<Serperior: "Hmm... Well... On the one hand... If we wait... That gives more opportunity for defenders to group up... On the other... We DID have a quarter of Overland Group B rendered unfit for duty today... We could probably afford to do some additional reconnaissance. To ensure that we will not encounter any further surprises of this nature... Very well then, I'll enact your suggestion.">

Route 36

-The sun sets, heralding the end of another day. The wild Pokémon the Route are just beginning to turn in for the night, or only beginning to wake up in the nocturnal ones case. Some of the mons are slightly on edge, ever since they heard of how the invaders from a foreign land came and took the largest human city in the region.

Which was why they all began to panic when they started to heard a high pitched sound. Quiet, at first, but steadily growing louder as it came closer.

Before any of the wild mons could retreat to their homes, they are shocked to see a pure white Pokémon shoot past overhead, leaving a trail of flames in it's wake. Even though they only caught a brief glimpse of it, the mons are awed at the sight.-

"What was that?!"

"It was huge!"

"And so fast!"

"Was it a bird?"

"It looked more like a Dragon to me."

"Has it come to help?"

"I hope so..."

-Unaware of the mons in awe, Reshiram flies onward, spotting the ruins of Goldenrod City on the horizon.-

Reshiram: Now's the time. Unite? Can you hear me?

Nidoran Colony

Unite: <Reshiram! Where have you been? I've been trying to get hold of you for days!>

Reshiram: My sincerest apologies, but we've been out of range! I can only speak to you if we are no more than a region apart.

Unite: <Oh, right. Sorry. So, where are you now?>

Reshiram: I'm in Johto.

Unite: <YOU ARE?!> -Smirks.- <...Perfect.>

Reshiram: Where are you now, Unite?

Unite: <I'm at the Nidoran Colony just off Route 33. I'll ask the Nidos to send out a signal. Try not be seen, okay?>

Reshiram: I shall try my best. Subtlety is not my forte...''

-Has put her mon in their Pokeballs and is holding a stolen C-gear-

Goldenrod City Streets

-Two houses and some nearby cars and trashcans had been set on fire some hours ago, now serving as temporary barricades by the fleeing resistance. Across a street in the western side of the city, all the members of a Nidorin@ squad that had [tried] to offer support to a Nidorino lay killed in combat, sprawled and spread around. The sole Nidorino manages to escape but has lost track of his human-

????#1 — <There he is! Get him!> — pawsteps follow.

????#2 — <Cast a Psychic!>

????#3 — <Stand down! All your co-conspirators are dead! Surrender!>

Nidorino (charges a Sludge Bomb) — <Try and get me! For U Frithrah!>

-The Nidorino stands backed against a parked car, fires the Sludge Bomb at one of the opponents who avoids it; when suddenly several Nidos and other Pokémon appear ganging up from the streets near the sea, launching elemental beams to cover for their ally. An [armored] Nidorino rushes up to his subordinate.-

Maestro Rize — <Hrayith anisth il!♦

> — manages to one-shot and dispatch an enemy Pokémon with a Shadow Claw.

Nidorino — <...Maestro!>

-The Nidorino joins the flurry of Nidos that escape to the southeast top speed, while Rize stands behind to ensure all the troops make the away, as some enemies emerge from the sea to pursue-

<...?>

-Suddenly, Rize's ears pick something and he turns around, spreading his legs and hopping around right before some Razor Winds and Hyper Beams strike his location and follow him around-

???? — <Don't let them escape!>

???? — <Catch him at once!>

Rize (ears flicker as he pushes against a wall) — <Damn it... Where—?>

-Suddenly, Rize's senses tingle and right then a Haxorus crushes the wall right before him and steps in; before the Nidorino can do anything, the Haxorus grabs him and lifts him up with a lethal Guillotine attack-

Rize (in pain) — <....N-N..- Aaaaahhhhh!> — shakes head.

-The Haxorus smiles as he tightens his grip with a last pump of pressure...
Rize explodes in purple sparks!-

Haxorus (blinks) — <Whu...?>

Real!Rize (leaps and swings down from Haxorus's head, looks up) — <Mistake!>

-With a swing and a swift motion of his horn, which glows blue to counter for egregious, seemingly ∞ damage, Rize cuts both of the Pokémon's legs open; the slash's explosive effect goes up the torso of the Pokémon, reaching his backbone and killing him [instantly]; the body is sent spiraling up the broken wall, bouncing on the roof and falling to the ground of the building, to limply skid up to the next street-

???? (looks from a distance) — <...! He didn't just do that!>

-Rize leers back, follows up and disappears in the smoke veil left by the shattered brick walls as some more troops attempt to Ember or Aura Sphere the area-

-At the Railroad, Vinollo, a Beedrill, some Nidos and Spinarak are finishing the cleansing of the railroad before any more troops can come. Saddened as he stares at the city, listening to the the cries and explosions in the distance, Vinnollo sighs to then return to the deceased body of the [Cinccino] leader-

Maestro Vinollo — <Your dominion here will end eventually. For now, lay rest...> — closes the Cinccino's eyes with his paw — <before being called by u Frithrah himself to answer for your blind allegiance.>

-Then the Nidorino hops and moves to the bushes, where the medics and a foreign Medicham are trying to heal a lethal wound the leader's friend Granbull has suffered, to no avail-

Granbull — <A-A-A-I can't make it...> — coughs blood — <Such... strentttt-tt-strength... hope it ss-s-ffices... to... liberate...>

Vinollo (smiles) — <We shall suffice... your lands will be retrieved back, your kits will live and spread. Don't worry...>

-The Granbull nods, barely maintaining conscience as the medics fail in every attempt to heal or at least stabilize his condition-

Granbull — <A pl... pl... pleas... to serve Frith...vaor~> — exhales with difficulty.

-Vinollo ponders for a moment about walking away; but his anger at the scene is overcome as he sees the Granbull faintly trying to reach for him; in a moment of mental clarity the Nidorino decides to stay with his friend-

Vinollo — to the Granbull — <Our pleasure. You have pursued freedom for our land, even when we didn't ask of you. Sainthe atha ma u Hrair, kan zaylanthe hray u vahrlien ma hyaones.♦

Requiescat in pace...>

The Granbull takes a look at his partner and smiles; although he does not understand the Lapine sayings to honor a fallen comrade, he does not need to. He only smiles and exhales for a last time.

Ninetales medic — <...He's gone... I think he couldn't even feel pain...>

Vinollo — <...Thanks.> — closes his friend's eyes with a paw.

-A moment of silence passes-

-Vinollo sads for a while before ordering that the bodies be sent to a nearby creek and buried there; as his subordinates comply with the orders, the Nidorino heads to the nearest ledge to take a look at the city-

-Suddenly, a small group headed by a Buizel walks in to the others, and the Buizel turns up to him-

Buizel supporter — <Hey! Nido in armor! We have to retreat, our troops are too tired to continue!>

Vinollo — <You can go, save the others. I'll go into the city...> — swings horn and walks away silently.

Buizel — <...Into? You're nuts!> — watches the Nidorino walk past the Railroad pillars.

-At the other side of the city, a pharmacy where some Nidoran and Nidorinos were hidden is ablaze, several kits and some guards burnt to death on the floor, while the few survivors make a run to the [east]-

-And some minutes later, the enemy troop responsible of that killing will turn around a corner to see a sole figure walking Out of the Inferno, and that will be the image and the pain that they'll take in as testament to their otherworldly journey to answer to Ho-Oh for their sins-

Rt.37 Arches

-A Xatu observes as several Nidoran, Wooper and Growlithe troopers go across the route in both directions. Amidst the flow, he locates a particular Nidorina and follows after her.

Xatu — <hey!> — swoops in — <You are Milite Roa, right? Follow me to the east, I have a message from the higher-ups.>

-At a junction-

Xatu — <Your presence is requested in the coast near the Pokéathlon building, before the sun comes out>

Rodríguez — That's it! If we can record these filters into powerful enough hardware, we will be able to see beyond those illusions in near-real time!
