-Talking to one of the customs officials, getting everything ready to allow the PEFE containers into Goldenrod-
— ...and some medications, too. Half of those — points at a container — are for the Goldenrod University's medical wing, the other half is for private storage and analysis.
— Fine. There's not problem with that. it's the second container that causes some issues.
— Mhm... As usual, oh well...
I'll check it out with Health and Sanitation tomorrow. Promise.
-the man nods, hands me over some documents to sign, which I do, then he goes to a cabin. I notice a random Murkrow apparently resting above the cabin, but pay no more attention to it-
-I return to the dock where a man is loading the two containers into a truck-
— We should be ready in five minutes, Silent. I take these containers straight to the analysis lab then?
— Yes, both of them. But be careful to not expose the darker one to electricity. Or to the magnetic scanners.
— Right... Heh... It took us three hours to reassemble all the pieces outside of the Dean's office... — goes sit on the driver's seat — Be seeing you later on today's meeting then?
— No can do... — hold up hand in excuse— I need to go check some things first.
— I see... — salutes — then at class tomorrow morning...
-I head to the other end of the transport dock where a special container is being set up for transport to Olivine; I'm somewhat surprised to see only two PEFE employees so I go talk to them-
— How come now the transports are only teams of two?
Juanito the PEFE Delivery Checker
— Dunno — shrugs — it's a recent change in the energy savings policy.
— ...You know why the board approved it?
— What would I know? I'm a baseline operator
. I read somewhere that the board is concerned with some public relationship matters so they have let someone at R&D manage the new internal directives.
— I see...
-I produce some bills and hand them over to Juanito-
— You two make sure that those Nidoran reach the habitat all-right. Try to give me a call back.
— Yes sir. — splits money with partner — And thanks for hiring us overtime.
-A couple of minutes later, the truck leaves towards the Olivine port. As it passes below the entrance arch, some Murkrow fly away. I watch the truck go and return to the streets, the three Nidorina still in pursuit.-
In a special place to the north of Ecruteak
-An Arcanine hides near the entry to the Bell Tower, a Xatu meditating on its back. The canine Pokémon shakes his fur a couple of time, growing restless-
(growling) — <Are we do- ooof!>
-the Xatu pecks the Arcanine-
— <I need to concentrate to see the remains of Their wishes...
> — looks up at the tower — <Down here, I only distinguish a weird mesh... To attain clarity of mind and vision beyond this mesh, at the top of this tower I must meditate...
-The Arcanine licks himself, smiles-
— <Well I wish you a long, nice flight...>
-the Xatu doesn't remove himself from the Arcanine's back.-
— <WHAT?> — barks — <Why would I have to->
> — pecks the Arcanine to silence him — <Flying outside the tower will not reveal me the wishes and memories hidden inside... I must climb it from the inside... March.
-The Arcanine walks to a clear spot from where to attempt a leap to an open window in the tower's second floor-
— <So...? Where do I fit in all this?>
— <This mesh mixes longing for a future past and wishes for a past to be fought for.
> — shakes head — <I must see them both at the same time. I must concentrate my entire being into discovering the lies intertwined here, sorting out the true wishes of our Gods...
(showing his teeth) — <Nothing of what you speak makes any sense... Why would I care->
-pecks the Arcanine's head- — <You have felt it.
> — let's out a pleasured chirp as the canine's fur stands up — <As has somemon else in this land. The skies scream of a traitor, of a liberator, of a knight, they say, "cast away", "kept", "write", but I can understand nothing else...
> — digs his talon into the Arcanine's back — <Take me to the top, protect me.
— <Why me?>
— <Only somemon who has chased the sun his entire life and succeeded can be trusted this task and awarded standing atop the closest place in this mortal world to the Sun God.
-frowns- — <So you...>
— <Knowledge is not our duty, but our very nature. Now embrace this truth. Fulfill your purpose.
-The Arcanine growls, but refrains himself from trying to shake the Xatu away-
— <Fine. But only because you appeal to my sense of adventure...>
-The Arcanine carefully leaps to the inside of the tower and hides behind a curtain, sniffing and examining the place while the Xatu tries to pick psychic signals in the whereabouts, somewhat surprised of not finding anything
