(The dreadlocked man does indeed notice the Vullaby.)

Man: Hang on a second, something's going on in my area...

(He lowers the phone for a moment and addresses his Mimikyu.)

Man: Citron, dear, do you mind finding out what that Vullaby's after?

(The Lunala-outfitted ghost obligingly pokes a long, clawed appendage out from under his rag, which he waves to try and catch the Vullaby's attention.)

-Zeal and Lanie have just arrived in Alola for their vacation.-

Hau'oli City

-Zeal and Lanie may or may not encounter Rose and Scarlette, who are wandering through the city together after having split up for a bit (when Rose caught Nora)-

-The Vullaby notices she is being beckoned and heads over-

Vullaby: <Uh, hey, any of you seen a Minccino around here?>

-Nearer to the Beachfront, two Skull Grunts are arguing whether either of them can hit someone swimming a distance away with a rock-

-To Diane-

It's a reality of what we do, that we fight horrible people, and that means our demons have an easier chance of coming out while fighting them. It still doesn't make you exactly the same as a Lanius or Paula, if that's what you're wondering.

(The Mimikyu shakes his head - or at least, the head of his costume - sagely.)

Citron: <I cannot say I have, no. May Lunala help you find them.>

(The man has returned to the phone, apologising to his conversational partner for the distraction.)

Ever: No, you're not allowed to do that, that kid with all the pseudos kept punching me out of the sky.

-Muninn, meanwhile, wanders off in the direction of the rustling-

Vullaby: <Thanks... I'm not sure how long I've been searching for her at this point...>

<...What year is it, anyway?>

-The rustling figure may notice a fainted Combee and human-

-Muninn may also notice them, if the rustling figure does-

Citron: <It is 2017. Why do you ask?>

-Zeal is lost in thought as he walks.-

Lanie: Um... Chary?

Zeal: Hm?

-Zeal has failed to notice one of his backpack straps is broken. The other slips off his arm and he drags him to his side with it. Lanie has a very unsurprised expression. Zeal gets on his knees and examines the broken strap, as Lanie notices Rose and Scarlette, wheels slightly toward them and awkwardly waves.-

Vullaby: <...Wow. 6 and a half centuries. That baby sure is good at hiding...>

Jessica: <Alright, everyone back up!>

She looked up at Shaun. <Can you get me a twig or something please?>

Shaun digged around on his backpack for something. He pulled out a piece of paper from his journal. "Will this work?"

Jessica: <Yeah, that's great! Set it down in front of me please.>

Shaun did as she asked and stpped back.

Jessica used Ember!

The paper began to curl and burn as her attack hit.

Resort Area — Past

Diane: Oh, no, I definitely don't think I'm as bad as them. Of course not. The sort of person Paula became didn't scare her. The sort of mon Lanius was... it didn't seem like it scared him, either.

-She pauses.-

Diane: ...But it does still scare the shit out of me. In the aftermath of Orre, even if I wasn't still a mindless murder machine, I still spent a long time doing things that I didn't realize were hurting people. And now I've seen myself fall into mindless-murder-machine mode again and I'm so scared of falling back into old habits and hurting the people I care about and making bad decisions and I thought I was done being scared and aaaaaaaaaaaagh.

-Skye slips her hand into Diane's, attempting to comfort her. Diane takes a couple of deep breaths before calming down.-

Diane: ...Sorry. I just... I had no idea what to expect when Lanius showed up. I have my other self's memories, I got them when I got my armband, I knew that time period was a war zone, but... the other me spent the majority of the time locking herself at home, as far away from the horrors outside as possible. Scared. She never actually saw the worst of it, just heard the news about it.

Hau'oli City

-Scarlette sees Zeal with his broken backpack strap, and rushes over.-

Scarlette: Are you guys okay? Team Skull didn't try to steal that, did they?

-Rose blinks, and approaches as well-

-Zeal stares bewilderedly.-

Zeal: Team what?

Hau'oli City

Scarlette: Team Skull. They're, uh, a gang of goons who harass people in an attempt to... uh... harass people. They're not subtle, usually, so I guess they probably didn't do that.

Hau'oli City, TS

(Isbrand goggles at this fairly mundane display.)

Isbrand: <Sweet egads above! Surely your power shall grow great enough to set this entire world ablaze!>

(These words have barely left her mouth before a far larger burst of fire completely incinerates the journal page, scattering microscopic ashes through the air. Isbrand's response to this is silent, slack-jawed astonishment.)

Svavel the Blaziken♂: (carefully putting out his wrist flames) <Really? You thought that paltry display was true Fire power?>

(Citron starts.)

Citron: <Lunala above, six centuries?>

Scarlette: ...Uh, right. I, uh, I'm Scarlette.

Rose: -waves- Rose. Nice to meet you guys.

Jessica: <That's not all I can do. I can set an entire building ablaze!>

Shaun: "Yeah, okay, let's NOT do that. We need to get going anyways. Come on, Jess. Oh, wait."

Shaun pulled out his Pokedex. "I knew I should have gotten the Alola data before I left." He bent down and looked at Isbrand. "Do you mind?"
