I'm finally downloading that bad boy, and Yuzuriha is pretty technical, but has very good zoning and spacing once you get past that.
I also went to my Arcade Scene, they had a debut tournament and 64 entrants came. I have never seen so much Gordeau in my life, or Waldstein. So yea, they're pretty much the top tiers I'm assuming
ugh, top tier grappler...that's not gonna be fun.
A lazy millennial who's good at what he does.Looking online, yes. Carmine's at a respectable B tier on most lists so I should be okay, but expect Gordeau and Waldstein to be nerfed in a future patch. No one should have that much range and damage and be safe.
For Those who Seek the Thrill of Death: A Dramatic SMT3 Hard PlaythroughPlaying Capcom Jojo and it's insane how good their animators are. Midler's animations are incredible and wouldn't be out of place in a Darkstalkers game.
On that game, am I the only one who finds Petshop massively overrated? He doesn't seem any worse than kakyoin who is just bannanas in his range and easy combos. I don't even think Petshop is even good.
Kakyoin's Halloween palette is incredible though.
Petshop is the only character who can fly, which negates a large amount of almost everyone's movesets. His icicles also recover insanely quickly, allowing him to set up infinites on hit or block.
Lampshade Hanging: It's a lifestyle.Okay now Waldstein's definitely getting a nerf.
For Those who Seek the Thrill of Death: A Dramatic SMT3 Hard PlaythroughNot to mention when "crouching" as Petshop, Petshop has no overhead vulnerability.
ALL CREATURE WILL DIE AND ALL THE THINGS WILL BE BROKEN. THAT'S THE LAW OF SAMURAI.If you notice, it doesn't damage :P
And my fucking Yuzuriha, I love her to death and I'm not dropping her, but she is Difficult, but Awesome incarnate. I am going to lose and get salty a shitload of times before I get better.
A lazy millennial who's good at what he does. It's not meant to be a damage infinite. It's meant to stall the game until the timer runs out, which is just as gamebreaking and a hundred times more frustrating.
For Those who Seek the Thrill of Death: A Dramatic SMT3 Hard PlaythroughI don't recall, but does UNIEL have a burst mechanic of some sort? Something to break out of combos with?
And I'm almost sure that infinite grab thing was in the arcades as well. I wonder why that wasn't patched out.
"And you must be Jonathan Joestar!" - SueNo, it does not have a burst mechanic. Veil Off, which starts with a burst-style attack, can't be activated while being hit, but you can do it while blocking.
Also, for Persona 4 Arena Ultimax, Marie has been confirmed to be free for week-one DLC, just like Adachi. Might only be good for the non-Japanese version, though.
Lampshade Hanging: It's a lifestyle. You can never have too much Gustab in your day.
I feel like he's the most tryhard MUGEN character there is.

So apparently the creator of Tekken was also the lead designer (but not creator/director) of Virtual Fighter.
I don't know what to make of this. How come Tekken has outdone Virtua Fighter in the end? How does this make sense?
Please help out our The History Of Video Games page.Because it's nowhere as needlessly technical for beginners as Virtual Fighter is
Watch SymphogearExactly what makes Virtua Fighter less intuitive than Tekken? (Haven't played the former and the latter only a few times).
Please help out our The History Of Video Games page.Apologies for the Thread Necro but...
Does anyone knows any Youtube channel or such that it's uploading any videos for this year's EVO?
Cause due to reasons I won't be able to watch the Streams, but I'd like to watch the matches once I have more time.
"Please crush me with your heels Esdeath-sama!Like every year before this, Maximilian Dood will probably make a top 5 EVO hope moments video sooner or later.
As for the other matches, I think you can just search 'em on youtube after a while or so.
"And you must be Jonathan Joestar!" - SueBeen messing around with Fightcade lately. It's really something having other people to play these super obscure Neo Geo fighters like Matrimelee and The Last Blade with.
I'm Hashil on there if anyone's interested in having a match sometime.
Bringing this back partly because I want to know if any Portuguese speaking tropers think the title "Trajes Fatais" is as strange as the translation for it I found would suggest it is.
One of its selling points, at least in the "Minimal" version, is that it's a one button fighter ala Smash or that robot game on PC I haven't heard much from lately, and greatly simplified directional inputs make your moves happen.

Where's the fun of that in a one on one fighter?
The pirate guy is kind of neat but the angel dude looks like something off one of those 25 cent stickers you get off the capsule machines. Pretty lame character design there.

Hashil: The plot of the game is that the costumes the characters wear turned magical and gave them powers and abilities based on those outfits. Hence the title.
You mean Lourenço? He is not a pirate he is a [https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/CangaA7o[ Cangaçeiro]]
"Please crush me with your heels Esdeath-sama!So with Nintendo's recent dip into competitive gaming, I have to wonder: have there been any non-standard fighting games the western FGC has embraced, even begrudgingly, besides Smash?
There aren't many platform or arena fighters out there, in general...
I think these are pretty cult right now:
- Skullgirls
- Rivals of Aether
- Gundam Vs. (they aren't localizing this though, it could be less cult and would've stolen ARMS' thunder if it were more popular)
- Naruto Ultimate Ninja
Hey, can I shill Garrison: Archangel a bit? It's like Gundam Vs., except made by us, and released recently.
Wehehe. Anyway the cost of playing a fighting game is quite high. Even ignoring how some companies throw out a lot of DLC or paid expansions, a joystick really ain't cheap. I mean if yer a hardcore flight sim player you'd have a super jazzed up flight stick; a racing fan would have a racing seat, steering wheel and pedals; and a toys-to-life player would have lots of figures. (IMO these comparisons are fair because none of this is mandatory, I mean these players can just live racing on a pad or flight sims on a keyboard if they weren't hardcore...)
My DA account... I draw stuff sometimes!Goddamn this thread's old.
My old post about that fatal clothing costume fighter made check on their youtube. Seems to be coming along alright.
Spritework's great and the character designs are... different? Not really sure what to make of some of them.

As far as I've read around, Gordeau and Waldstein seems to be top-tier, pretty much.
Can't wait to play Eltnum.
