Yeah, they're not dangerous at all, it's their breath that's the main threat.
That is the face of a man who just ate a kitten. Raw.Yeah, that's what I was referring to. With 200+ curse resist their breath is a joke.
Also, the Cursebite ring doesn't seem to boost curse resist as much as the wiki says it does. It's supposed to boost curse resist by 400%, but the most I could get was 210 or so.

Can't think of anything witty, so have this instead...Yeah, the Cursebite Ring only gives its 400% bonus to resistance you get from stats and Humanity, so unless your stats and Humanity count are high enough, you aren't really going to see that significant a boost in Curse resistance.

Hitokiri in the streets, daishouri in the sheets.Ah. That explains that then.
Forgot how hard the Duke's Archives is when you first go in. Can't remember how I used to deal with those spellcasting assholes before they teleport.
Can't think of anything witty, so have this instead...Snipe 'em.
the worst enemy in that whole place are the railings which seems to make your weapon bounce if you so much as swing in a 30 foot radius around them
And then there was silenceI've heard of people claiming that Ring of Fog / Hidden Body works wonders for avoiding getting sniper and/or mobbed in that place.
Might want to combine that with Slumbering Dragon / Hush for maximum backstabbage.
Never tried it. Maybe I should next time.
But in general a longbow or Pharis' bow can work wonders on anything that can be stunlocked with headshots.
Or if you can just close in enough for lock on range without getting mobbed and blast them with Soul Arrow.

hey that sounds good
i never really tried stealth much in this game, didn't really feel worth it
And then there was silenceI never really did either.
Though now I sort of want to make a stealth character. Get enough INT for Oolacile sorceries and catalyst, go full DEX and backstab everything.
I dealt with the Channelers the other night by using giant's shield and one jumping attack with a +15 Demon Machete, but that's just me.
...Yeah, kinda given up on both the Kings and the Broom for the moment. :| Could do another run at either since I got to the library bonfire, but I dunno.
i care but i'm restless, i'm here but i'm really gone, i'm wrong and i'm sorry, babyTrying to go for Seath's tail, for rare weapon achievement.
Wish I'd tried for it in first run through. Apparently the hitbox for it is ten miles behind the rest of him, and wiggles all over the fucking place.
I'm baiting the laserbeam and running around him on his left like the wiki says, but still having no luck. Any pointers? Should I be using the Furysword?

i care but i'm restless, i'm here but i'm really gone, i'm wrong and i'm sorry, babySeath's Tail is one of the hardest parts for me, i think you're just gonna have to be persistent
And then there was silenceAccording to the wiki, Seath's Crystal Breath always sweeps in the same direction; from his right to his left. Apparently baiting him to use it is key to being able to run behind him. He appears to do it as his long range option, so lots of running is involved.
I never really paid attention and just kept trying to get behind him whenever I went for tail cuts. It always takes me many tries.
And lightning works wonders. Apparently fire as well if the wiki is not fucking with us. If fire really is a viable option, a maxed out Pyroglove and Great Combustion sound like a good idea.
Reports state that tail's HP is approximately 15% of Seath's own HP bar.
Oh, and apparently you can trick Seath into breaking the crystal himself, giving you some extra time to get some good hits on his tail. Never tried it, but I sounds like fun.

Never mind, just got it. And yeah, you can absolutely just hang out next to the crystal and he'll destroy it with his breath attack. It even stuns him out of the attack, so as long as you have the crystal on your left, facing him, you can either take advantage of it, or just sit there and watch him facepalm at himself. "Oh, for the love of crystal, I just broke the damn thing, didn't I?" Then it's just a matter of cramming your face (and melee weapon) into his left crotch (on your right) and healing whenever the crystals damage you.
i care but i'm restless, i'm here but i'm really gone, i'm wrong and i'm sorry, babyIs a 100-hour video game ever worthwhile? A Dark Souls review.
I haveā¦ issues with this review. Enough issues, in fact, that I'm writing an entire essay about them! :O You guys okay with me posting it here when I finish it? It's just about done- I just need to finish up an anecdote about my time as a summon spirit in Anor Londo.
but HOW?Sure.
I'd say that if people can treat games like Skyrim and Fallout as worthwhile, Dark Souls is just as viable for that.
That is the face of a man who just ate a kitten. Raw.Oh, that pretentous "review" that compares one form of media to an unrelated medium.
He did one on the sequel too. Just check out that title.
It doesn't factor into the essay because that first article gives me more than enough to work with, but it's worth sharing. Like, from what I can tell, the bottom of the first page implies From is using slave labor? What? ??????????
but HOW?Finished off the Broom at some point, I forget when.
Tried the Stooges again for the hell of it. Hate their guts.
Stocked up on greens and reds, and headed into Catacombs. Killed Patches because why not, got me a gravesword, and got me a +10 Fire Machete from Vamos. Killed Pinwheel on the second try (somewhat to my embarrassment).
Donned the MMMAGGOT, killed Jenkins and got his chicken, and was last seen banging my head against Kneetoe's kneecap. Them skellies are annoying, and I forgot about the Rapesword two runs in a row. Encumbered myself with Hobble's shield on the second try, but figure I survive it using Artorias's anyway, and feel like I have better control over myself unencumbered.
i care but i'm restless, i'm here but i'm really gone, i'm wrong and i'm sorry, babyNito is a necromancer.
The skeletons are his pawns.
Now what was that about re-constructing skeletons in the catacombs?
edited 10th Dec '16 3:06:01 AM by Geist-Fox
To be fair, As long as you stay away from the big skeletons, the little ones spend half their time in pieces because Nito's attacks have friendly fire.
Apocalypse: Dirge Of Swans.@Steve: Yeah, that's one of my favorite parts of him.
@Geist: Yeah, that's one of my least favorite parts of him.
i care but i'm restless, i'm here but i'm really gone, i'm wrong and i'm sorry, babyI think he was referring to the fact that finishing them off with a Divine Weapon will prevent them from reassembling themselves.
Hitokiri in the streets, daishouri in the sheets.
Well... that was underwhelming. Basilisks really aren't a big deal at all.
I remember them being easy to kill on my previous playthrough, but I didn't think their curse breath could be neutered so easily. I fucked up and fell off the tree and had two of them attacking me at the same time, and I never even came close to being cursed. The biggest danger in the hollow is falling off the tree. Which of course I managed to do at least three times trying to get the items. I have no idea how you're supposed to get some of them.
Can't think of anything witty, so have this instead...
