i actually did use the shortsword two handed for the entire fight, since there was literally nothing to actually guard against in the fight.
i shudder to think just how much longer it would have taken without doing it twohanded.
I preloaded Dark Souls 2 on Steam already.
Finals start in around a month.
My future is so fucking screwed.
Again.
They call it the Rumour Mill because every time one specific guy posts I definitely feel cards going from my library to my graveyardI am about to venture down into Blighttown to get the Tin Banishment Catalyst.
About how much better is it than the Sorcerer's Catalyst my int build is currently using?
Sign on for this After The End Fantasy RP.It's worse (exactly 20 points of maximum Magic Adjust worse). Except because it looks rad.
And because the strong attack is a thrust that deals decent damage for a catalyst.
Don't go get it unless one of those two statements looks particularly appealing. Or unless you're trying to get everything in the game.
The only three catalysts that are actually better than the Sorcerer's Catalyst for spellcasting are: Logan's Catalyst (10 more maximum Magic Adjust), Tin Crystallization Catalyst (best Magic Adjust in the game* , hardest pokestrong attack among all catalysts, halves spell uses) and Manus Catalyst (same Magic Adjust as Logan's, its strong attack scales a lot with Strength, further empowers Dark spells, halves spell uses).

Sign on for this After The End Fantasy RP.Dusk of Oolacile's headdress also increases sorcery damage, but I think it halves your number of casts. You can find it at the spot where you initially rescue Dusk in the Darkroot Basin (the spot with the golden golem) IIRC.
The headress actually just increases magic damage
Both dealt and taken
Also dickstab forest pvp is fun as a Mage
Moonlight great sword and crystal seekers and soul bolt oh me oh my
And then there was silenceyou know i never actually realized that the blacksmith in parish sold weapons.
This is a weird question, but how tall are Ornstein and Smough, as an estimate?
"Monsters are tragic beings. They are born too tall, too strong, too heavy. They are not evil by choice. That is their tragedy."The Chosen Undead is estimated to be six foot even, so Inassume Ornstein is nine 1/2 feet, and Smough is
Uh
Big
And then there was silenceAnyone here ever invaded someone and found Cosplay Ornstein and Smough?

Bitch I AM that someone!
And then there was silenceI love how Reality Ensues with regards to boss equipment. Want to wear Smough's armour? Sure, but it's so heavy that you might not even be able to move in it.
"Steel wins battles. Gold wins wars."I can mid roll in Smoughdrops armor if I Havel ring
And then there was silenceWell, my Int Build is Soul Level 46 or 47, I just killed the dragon today, and I have Barbed Straight Sword, though I haven't gotten to Bleed anybody yet. Tomorrow I am gonna tackle Blighttown again. Its not so scary when you have the ability to shoot soul blasts at people.
I murdered the Gaping Dragon with numerous Great Heavy Soul Arrows while a cool Sunbro helped.
Gotta wonder, can a Phantom be cursed by those evil Basilisk things?
I look forward to Sen's Fortress and rescuing Logan so I can upgrade to Soul Spears and Homing Soulmass.
Sign on for this After The End Fantasy RP.Squished Nito on my first try, woo!
oh. wonderful. i got caught on the geography leading to blighttown twice in a row and promptly got squished.
I am gonna go the route of New Londo-Drakes again in regards to Blighttown. Those damn mosquitos should not be so much trouble with good ranged options.
It should also be fun to farm the Infested Barbarians - last I recall, they gave a healthy sum of souls.
Sign on for this After The End Fantasy RP.Have fun with underleveled Quelaag, and missing out on the Iaito!
I can't stand skipping areas, really. I'm not a speedrunner.
And then there was silenceI just have nervous issues, so I need to get through areas like that quickly, while also getting the items that matter to me.
Sign on for this After The End Fantasy RP.Take that, Four Kings! Or five or six kings, I can't remember how many of you spawned exactly. Kinda silly.
Still have to finish the DLC and explore a bunch of places before I squish Gwyn. This is a big game.
Aw, you should have done the DLC before fighting Sif.
And then there was silenceWhy, does something different happen if you do?
Heh, I killed Sif before I even knew what the DLC content was about. This was about... 6-7 months ago now. Yes, I've been playing the same game for over a year since I got the game in April 2013.

The intro cutscene changes if you do the DLC (and find Sif there) before you fight him.
It makes the fight even more heartbreaking.
You can always watch it on youtube, though.

It should be easy to use a weapon two handed against Gaping. I usually bait his grab attack, give him two hits on the head and then go for the tail. I think he was the first boss I didn't die to aside from the Asylum Demon, but I had seen a let's play of him before buying the game.
