Because I am clearly insane, I have decided to start a Nuzlocke challenge of my own. In Touhoumon. Have I mentioned that Brock alone has level 17s? This is gonna be fun. Oh, and I'm going in semi-blind, as my last run only went up to Misty.

Also, gender ratio has not been changed.

^ Actually, most gender ratios in Touhoumon are skewed towards female.

Or at least its fandom.

I have avoided Touhou for that very reason.

Well due to technical difficulty I had to Take a step backwards and do a RUBY Nuzlocke challenge. On the plus side apparently that was the original.

I am possibly considering a Sapphire one.

Where I name my Treeko Sabae, only let him evolve into a Grovyle, and declare the first female 'mon Mono. If she dies he's missing for the next Gym or two to visit Dormin Ho-oh to revive her, after which she still won't fight, of course.

...And now I want to make an entire run around weird fanfic references?

Wow those are some rather ballbusting and arbitrary rules.

Then again I'm not big on self imposed challenges.

Actually, I think I'll do it with platinum.

And a couple of rules I'll impose on myself:
If I have no more pokemon left over, I must start a new game
Cannot have more than one pokemon at a time that knows an HM move

I think its pretty easy for this challenge to become unwinnable. If you can only catch the first thing you find the first time you enter a rout, no chance if it gets away and no duplicates, how are you supposed to finish? You can't get far in the game without catching a certain number of different Pokemon, Oak's assistant won't give you what you need.

Yeah I know, its technically complaining about a game I haven't played, but I don't wanna play if its going to take massive save scumming even if my team doesn't suffer any losses. Pokemon games have too many unexplained mechanics and trial and error gameplay on there own.

The only mandatory rules are 'Release a Pokemon if it faints' and 'Only catch the first pokemon you find in an area'. It's the mountain of extra rules that make it unwinnable.

Alternately, you keep fainted Pokemon in a PC Box, and if you fail the Nuzlocke run by whiting out, you could always finish with a normal run.

...But then maybe I'm missing the point.

Most people say that whiting out = game over.

I invented 'Dooflocked', which is basically like Nuzlocked except you can only use Bidoofs as your Pokemon.

HAHAHAHAAHAHAHAAHAHAHHAAHAHAHA! Now I know how a Fisherman feels!

What about playing with 3 or less mons?

I'd say that's suicide.

^ I managed to get by in Emerald playing with only the three starter Pokèmon.

How'd you get three starter pokemon?

Trading, but I'm not sure if that's allowed.

Yeah, I think there might be an optional rule somewhere that says 'no traded pokemon'.
