My Gryphon doesn't like me. :(
Umbran Climax◊Related Question: How is loyalty & chaos frame increased in this game, now that there are no longer individual levels?
Picking up a dropped Lovers Tarot Card in the middle of battle.
But I know for a fact that there is at least one other way, since I have units that have never touched a Lovers card but have very high loyalty.

Umbran Climax◊Perhaps killing someone of an opposing race?
How often do you get new songs? At first I figured you would get them as you heard them in the game, but that's definitely not the case, sadly.
Racial stuff only effects the Chaos Frame.
IDK about the songs.

Umbran Climax◊Just recruited Ice and Lightning dragons. AAAAAAAWWW YYYEEEAAAHH!
Umbran Climax◊Having to level up a new class from scratch is a serious pain. The crafting system is also incredibly tedious, especially since you don't know the improvements (and raised level requirements) for the upgraded gear.
Other than those complaints, however, I've been greatly enjoying the game. Also enjoy the composer notes in the sound test.
I'm also experiencing a curious obstinacy in that I refuse to level Denam as a Ninja due to that being the most popular choice. Similarly, I'm not using unique characters unless I like them and don't use several of them because of their fixed appearance despite knowing they're stronger than generics.

I actually decided to keep Denam as a Warrior, since he already has a lot of XP in 1h Swords anyway.
Pro-tip: It's better to recruit Classes than to change into them, as the recruited unit will start off with a few abilities and gain some lvls from the battle you recruited them in.

Umbran Climax◊I, too, have kept my Denam as a Warrior (although mine is specializing in 2-handed swords). As for recruiting, I really should start doing that but so far I haven't bothered and have been using the same team I started with in addition to other characters I've picked up along the way.
I'm making Denam a Ninja, if only because I don't plan on making him a Lord, and I've specifically set him up to have as much AGI as possible.
You can just make a him a Lord later with World.
Umbran Climax◊True. It'll depend on a lot of things, though.
And I like Ninjas. High speed death.
I just ran into an Zombified Hydra in a story battle.
I want it.

Umbran Climax◊I got that Zombified Hydra, but zombies don't level up. D:
I'll have to find the cure to zombie....ism before I can do anything with it. ):
At least I managed to recruit Ravness.
Umbran Climax◊Huzzah!
Honestly, I've put the game on the shelf for a bit, need to burn through P 3 P which got put on hold because of Valkyria Chronicles 2...
so many good games, so little time.
Ne Obliviscaris Pesterchum Handle: christenedTemplarChapter 3. (Law, I think. It's entitled "Ambition and greed rule, while dogs and swine serve.")
Xaebos in Brigantys Castle.
HELP.
I'm Charlie Owens, good night and good luck. PSNID: CEOIII 1117You must be on Chaos Route, on Law Route(the one I did) Xaebos is fought in Almorica.
What's so bad about him in Chaos?
Umbran Climax◊Bleeer, 50 hours in and I'm not quiiiiite done yet. Gonna have to shelve it while I burn a hole through Pokemon White.
But somehow,◊Jotun: 2 Golems that are apparently coated in adamantium. Seriously, I've done the battle 20 times or so, and it always goes the same way.
1. I handle the Cyclopses (Cyclopi?) rather handily. 2. The golems step up. 3. I do pissant damage to them, they do reasonably good damage to me. 4. Xaebos and his support system (healers and archers and such) step up. 5. I get stomped like a black person at a Tea Party rally.
I reiterate: HELP.
I'm Charlie Owens, good night and good luck. PSNID: CEOIII 1117I don't even know, I took Law Route. That version of the Xaebos fight was just him and a bunch of humans.
Keep your physical units as far away from the healers as possible so the Golems will move forward and cannot be healed.
Have Canopus(and another flying unit, like a Wingman or Gryphon, if you have one) take out the healers and archers while your Physical attackers distract the Golems.
If you have access to a store, buy a lobber and magical bombs, those do tons of damage(around 65-75) to everything and have no MP cost, but are all AOE and shorter range than real magic(they are not missiles so you don't have to worry about shooting your own dudes in the back, just keep them out of the area of effect). But know that magic bombs cannot perform a killing blow, despite their massive damage they will only drop a unit to 1 HP.

Umbran Climax◊Use Rampart Aura II to prevent the golems and Xaebos from breaking into your rear lines, have everyone else clean out all the other enemies, then finally surround Xaebos and kill him.
MISSION ACCOMPLISHED!
Know what golems don't just shrug off? Lightning magic and crushing damage. Broke out some hammers (and certain swords), gave my hawkman a crossbow to deal with the backup, and cleaned up.
Now, I need to level up a second beast tamer. (Next story battle has 4 dragons, 2 of which I wish to tame. Gonna be ugly.)
I'm Charlie Owens, good night and good luck. PSNID: CEOIII 1117OK, I'm early in chapter 2 and a bunch of new classes have recently opened up - Beastmaster, Terror Knight, Rogue, Ninja. Which of them aren't worth leveling up? Taking a whole bunch of low-level characters into battles is a recipe for disaster. As it is I already have more classes than I have units so I have to shelve some of them... suggestions?
Ninja is good if you have a high dexterity character. They are among the fastest units, have high jump(meaning they can scale large cliffs) and high movement. They can also learn double strike. They have their own version of magic but its usefulness varies and I've heard they're better physically.
Terror Knight is an offense oriented version of Knight that uses status effects in place of healing magic that normal Knights get.
I only just started to train a Rogue, so I'm not so sure about them.
Beast Tamers are useful for the Recruits they can get you(Beasts: like Octopi, Gryphons, Cockatrices, and Cyclopes; once you learn Subdue at lvl 5. Dragons: once you learn Tame at lvl 10), but not necessarily for anything else. I gave mine a lobber and Field Alchemy II so it could be of use with magic bombs, buff/debuff items, and higher level healing items.

Umbran Climax◊
Cleared out the east side of the forest, got two dragoons, a new knight, and a swordsman for my troubles, along with a nodachi. Still lookign for one handed katanas though. Probably will retreat, restock, and then do it all over again to get my Beast Tamer up to snuff to get a dragon or two.
