Asura's Wrath

Ya know, people who hate visual novels and these types of games annoy me slightly :P I mean, yeah, technically visual novels are choose your adventure books(if even that) and this is interactive anime, but that doesn't mean that they are bad, it just means that they are for different type of audience.

On otherhand I can perfectly understand it since they are still kind of expensive and people tend to expect gameplay in games :P

Also, some things can only be done in Visual Novels or with QTE. This game seems to be great at making player involved in action of cutscenes with them.

Especially when God has his own QT Es.

Which he can fail^note OK, so his successes and failures are all scripted, but that's besides the point..

I find that actually one of the most awesome things ever done in a video game.

Me too. My only gripe about it is that the successes and failures are completely predetermined in this case, rather than allowing for variability (e.g. via random "dice rolls").

I don't see those "dice rolls". I mean, how would that work? Alternate ending? Chakravartin endlessly getting up?

I loled at this:

I'd imagine that they'd be tied to how much "damage" (measured by number of successfully landed attacks) you've inflicted on Chakravartin — the more "damaged" he is, the higher the chance for failure (and eventually, he'd be guaranteed to fail all his QTEs).

Hm. Seems fair. That being said, isn't that fight long and tedious already?

It pretty much is, though. That's the whole point behind it.

I like interrupting enemy speeches, too.

Never mind whether he himself was involved, if my stuff was being used for a Stephen Chow movie, i'd pay to license it to them if they wanted.

Anyway, i've thought of this game for a while now, but i'm not sure if I should get it. Would you guys recommend it?

If you like Anime, extremely japanese stuff and over the topness of everything, then yes.

The DLC, too.

The gameplay is mostly standard Final Fight esque beatemup mixed with Starfox esque railshooting, but the game is VE Ry story driven, with QTE's that are actually done right and feel more like they enhance the experience then detract from it, especially in the DLC.

@Tech: Its basically interactive anime/with episodes and everything, even commercial break cut-ins without actual commercials of course) and mostly cutscenes. So depends on whether that sounds appealing or not.

How would Asura fare against the cast of Metal Gear Rising? Mantra vs Nanomachines. But no Planet-size Asura.

Asura doesn't need to go planet sized.

If he can throw something as big as a 30 meter tall elephant and Augus can knock out s said elephant with hsi Thumb, no in metal gear sands a chance. Not even armstrong.

I also find Ammy making a cameo to be quite amusing.

She fits in perfectly.
