(weak laugh) At least the love triangle in Thundercats isn't as... painful as the one I'm horrified by in another show.

@probablyinsane

Oh c'mon man don't turn this into an Avatar vs Thundercats debate. T.T

My only input on that remark: only a single episode was dedicated to the subject regarding Mako, Korra, and Asami.

No, not interested in a vs debate at all.

Just expressing "pain" concerning love triangles.

Was really sympathizing about love triangles and such.

Probably funny if it involves characters you don't care about. But UGH if it's with characters you care about.

[up]I am going to chock it up to Mind Control. Mumm-Ra brought Pumyra back from the dead, he's probably doing some kind of mind control. There's no way Pumyra would willingly work for the guy responsible for wiping out Thundera. Mumm-Ra's using Pumyra's feelings of betrayal to mind control her into doing his bidding. That is my canon for this situation. I will stick my fingers in my ears and shout really loudly if anyone tells me otherwise.

Plus, if it is mind control, I pray that Lion-O can somehow use the spirit stone to revive and redeem her at some point.

Now that they know what is wrong with the Thundercat Ho, do they fix her (pun intended), or get a new one? [lol]

Signs say: Final redeeming heroic sacrifice of the Disposable Woman, but YMMV.

If that was really the series finale, then it was pretty underwhelming.

I hope the show gets another season.

Did anyone else get a creepy vibe that Wiley Kit will be the next love interest of Lion-O? It felt like that at the end.

Wasn't crazy about her anyway.

That hand bow thing is just silly. If you're gonna go with hand crossbow screw realistic and go Diablo 3 Demon Hunter a la Mode.

You fell victim to one of the classic blunders!

I liked Pumyra the most next to Lion-O. She just seemed one of the most developed characters...and now this happens. It really makes you reevaluate all her past episodes, trying to figure out how much of her was genuine, if at all. I knew Lion-O wasn't going to end up with Cheetara, but I wasn't expecting this to happen. Definitely not.

Now that it has happened, I think I can give the writers a little more credit. They knew that fans were expecting Pumyra to be Lion-O's rebound love interest. It's what I had expected. And the writers knew what a shock it would be to make her when they revealed she was a traitor. To me, it feels like the love triangle was partly used to set this all up and soften us up for a punch in the gut. So many fans wanted Lion-O/Pumyra since Lion-O/Cheetara didn't work out, and they used those hopes and expectations to just make it worse.

I need to rewatch Pumyra's episodes and see if I can spot the signs. Right now though, all of us need to start giving the show our support. Sign the petition, and be sure to buy the finale off of Amazon instant video once it's released. The second season needs to be made, but it's not going to happen unless we work for it.

Okay, just watched the new episode. Let me see if I have this right.

Pumyra turned traitor because she died in the initial assault on the kingdom of the Thundercats and blamed Lion-O for what happened. That is essentially the core of it?

Is she freakin' HIGH?!? I had to pause the show and yell "WHAT?!?" the minute this reveal happened. Her being a spy I could MAYBE buy, but the reasoning WHY is BEYOND idiotic! Has this stupid, STUPID woman forgotten who was responsible FOR the attack that KILLED her?!? IT WAS MUMM-RA! HE WAS THE ONE WHO STARTED EVERYTHING AND GOT HER CITY ATTACKED AND HER KILLED AND SHE'S FREAKIN' WORKING FOR-Makes! No! SEEEEENSE!

[up]Well don't forget she died in that attack and Mumm-Ra revived her, so some form of brainwashing probably happened.

[up]They could have made it so that Mumm-Ra had simply found her under all the rubble, but they make a point to show him resurrecting her. So she's probably some kind of homunculus, with the original's soul being manipulated by Mumm-Ra through her feelings of anger at Lion-O. If she was right in the head, her warming up to Lion-O would probably have been real. I doubt that Pumyra would be genuinely loyal to Mumm-Ra after spending time with Lion-O.

I believe that Mumm-Ra most likely brought Pumyra bck to life after "Trials of Lion-O Part 2." After losing one more time, he probably figured it was time to do something sneakier. Mumm-Ra likely knew all along the Sword of Plundarr was in that mountain all along, and used Pumyra to lure the Cats there so they could free it for him, in addition to letting him know where they were. How he knew they would end up in Dog City is unclear, but perhaps he counted on Pumyra becoming famous enough in the Pit that they would hear about her.

I also think that this version of Pumyra could be immortal, so long as Mumm-Ra's magic sustains her. It would help her survive in the Pit if her skills weren't good enough, as an extra precaution. And it would help with fooling everyone since it let Mumm-Ra swat her around all he wanted.

As for the nature of the control, that's hard to say. It could be possible that Pumyra acted mostly like herself, but with subconscious orders implanted by Mumm-Ra, like leading the Cats to the Sword of Plundarr and going after the Tech Stone. Maybe the mind control only took full effect in Mumm-Ra's presence. But I think whatever the case is, it does kind of explain some of her inconsistent behavior, switching from flirting to fighting. She's driven by her anger at Lion-O, but also has to gain his trust. But it's still hard to tell if any of that is really her.
