I know most pros do.
Yeah, I don't think there's anyone I know who liked the way Alpha 3 handled supers.
Also, having seen new gameplay of the freshly-unlocked Evil Ryu and Oni in SSFIV:AE, who wants to bet that fan demand will make Capcom port them over as DLC?
Long live Cinematech. FC:0259-0435-4987Not really, I'm not that interested in those two characters, but then I'm not one for Evil/Oni/Demon/Ultra/Super versions of Ryu/Akuma/whatever.
It's more frustrating waiting for the asskicking than the asskicking itself. You probably make for 1 out of a about a million, though.
The chances are slim to none that they won't be ported over. The competitive scene needs them to stay competitive, and Capcom knows it.
That video is so 2005.
No offense, but that vid would be a smidge more impressive if I hadn't seen it fifty million times already. It's possibly the most widely spread Street Fighter footage, ever.
Man, that game was so mechanical. <prefers Street Fighter IV> Gen player, 100%.
I wish Oro, Q, and Necro would make a few return appearances one of these days though. Oro was my extreme long-shot character choice for Marvel vs Capcom 3.
"The difference between reality and fiction is that fiction has to make sense." - Tom Clancy, paraphrasing Mark Twain.Oro's still a Street Fighter character, so that makes him less of a longshot compared to the other more obscure characters from Capcom.
I find it hard to prefer one Street Fighter game over the other, I guess it's just what I'm in the mood for.

It's more frustrating waiting for the asskicking than the asskicking itself.Yeah, I flip-flop as wlel. But, as it stands, I think SFIV is rather poorly designed.
i keep seeing people mention SSF 4:AE and then playing it online. gotta ask... how do they plan to do that? i want my evil Ryu.
Awesome. Hope it hits consoles eventually.
And I like what he said about giving the World Warrior's more easy yet powerful chains a rehaul.
As long as I don't get messed up with my Gen motions, and can still use my Honda effectively, I'm good.
Oh, and Dan must clearly be rehauled as the greatest fighter of the set. Super Taunt must take half the bar as apposed to the whole thing, so I can cancel my Super Taunt into my Super Taunt.
But yeah, anyway, I know what you guys mean about trying to get a wide berth. I try to know how to use as many characters as possible - I can competently use several of the SSFIV characters, though the only character from Alpha I can use at all is, again, Gen.

"The difference between reality and fiction is that fiction has to make sense." - Tom Clancy, paraphrasing Mark Twain.Alright, another Street Fighter thread.
Yeah, I liked Alpha 2 over Alpha 3. Alpha 3's music, for one, felt... wrong.
ALL CREATURE WILL DIE AND ALL THE THINGS WILL BE BROKEN. THAT'S THE LAW OF SAMURAI.Alpha 3 gave the Shin Bison and Karin themes. Your argument is invalid.

A great many of the themes are still generic/bland, though. But YMMV I guess. Those two are good.
ALL CREATURE WILL DIE AND ALL THE THINGS WILL BE BROKEN. THAT'S THE LAW OF SAMURAI.Why have I got the feeling that I am the only one thinking Street Fighter Alpha 3 was the best in series?
It was the only one I played, so my agreement won't help validate your opinion much.
Thats a shame. Another thing is the possibility that of some the characters that appeared in the SF 4 series will be left out in future installments. Seth for example, who is my fav will likely suffer the fates of characters like Karin, R.Mika etc.
Come to think of it, I don't really think I have an opinion on best game in the series. II is the series at it's most iconic, but even in HD Remix form, it lacks polish (as bizarre as that statement sounds). III looks and feels like it desperately wants to be KOF. And well, I grew up with the Alpha series the most, but the Alpha counter system always felt awkward to me.
I used to love the Capcom Vs and the Marvel fighting games (X-Men: Children of the Atom and Marvel Super Heroes) but I really wish all of them had gotten a proper console release, at least as a Compilation Release.
ALL CREATURE WILL DIE AND ALL THE THINGS WILL BE BROKEN. THAT'S THE LAW OF SAMURAI.What about 4? This sub series so far has really angered and eniced me so many times it is annoying. Mainly angered though.
I kind of wanted to get IV for a while, but never did so... And of course, now I'm spending half my time watching random SSF 4 videos on Youtube, SRK's live stream, and listening to the game's music... I had even become fond of some of the characters that debuted in it, or characters I've never seen/played at all (namely, Juri, Dudley, Makoto, Cody, and Ibuki).
I do plan to get the version being made for the 3DS, but in the meantime I downloaded Alpha 3 MAX for the PSP (though I haven't played it much) just to get a bit of how the series has progressed over the years *, as well as see how different it was to the Capcom Vs Whatever spinoffs.
Lets put it this way: Online fighting games will never replace arcade gaming, IMO. Arcades are a religious experience to me, even if I can never get as good as the frame counting EPIC MINDGAMES SON 10-hit combo crowd.

ALL CREATURE WILL DIE AND ALL THE THINGS WILL BE BROKEN. THAT'S THE LAW OF SAMURAI.Yeah, online play isn't the same as playing someone right next to you.
Feels more alive that way.
It's more frustrating waiting for the asskicking than the asskicking itself.^^I'm so angry. Arcades are dying as soon as I get good enough to play in them without looking like a moron.
But in any case, I main El Fuerte. Thinking Honda as a sub-main, though I'm not sure what he counters that, in turn, counters Fuerte.
I'm a bit okay with E. Honda myself. I do like that tick-throw he can do.
Charge characters make me more defensively if I say so myself.
It's more frustrating waiting for the asskicking than the asskicking itself.
Because the last one got purged.
A friend of mine recently gave me a Mad Catz controller last week, sure it's not an arcade stick, but it's a start.
So, anyone here prefer Alpha 2 over Alpha 3?
