Cain's a perfect example for the trope...but combining one of the usual "Cain with guns-a-blazin'" book covers with the page quote is a bit of a stretch. If someone can find a better visual example, let's have one.
What about using a shorter quote from Cain that highlights his (supposed) cowardice as a caption for a collage of pics of him from the book covers, or even just one cover? The one that immediately comes to mind is Death or Glory, where he's dual-wielding bolt pistols and surrounded by ork corpses.

A cover like that + a pic of him tied up, getting his ass beat, cowering in a corner or in general a complete joke is the only way to show this trope.
Mr Satan has many moments of all of the above I just cant find a good moment of it.
(Also that guy looks like a Villain not a Hero)

Sparkling and glittering! Jan-Ken-Pon!Perhaps the second to last line here?
Belief or disbelief rests with you. That's even worse than the original image - it's just text text words text.
I thought the picture of Cain worked fine in combination with the page quote. Then again, Cain isn't really the best example, because he actually does do most of the heroic things he's credited with... albeit for different reasons than most people assume.

I reject your requirement for a witty statement or fanboyish squealing in my signature.Being an example isn't important, showing the trope is what's important. If you need to explain the image, it's not showing the trope.
Fight smart, not fair.Much as I like Cain, I have to agree that we want to avoid Just A Face And A Caption whenever possible.
Bumping for resolution's sake.
There's nothing to really be resolve with. The only thing we've done is establish that Ciaphas Cain doesn't show the trope.
Fight smart, not fair.I'm leaning towards unpicturable.
Rhymes with "Protracted."My self as well.
Fight smart, not fair.Possibly the last panel of this comic?
What about this?

I think it's pictureable, but text-heaviness is unavoidable.
Isn't that sort of a spoiler? I'm not sure because I know the work, but it seems dubious...
Rhymes with "Protracted."It's the last panel of the series.
Okaaaayyy, I admit that didn't cross my mind...
Tapol's looks okay to me.
Fight smart, not fair.Isn't Tapol's JAFAAC?
Not quite. I don't recognize the guy, but I can tell he's an incompetent twit from the way he's standing and holding the sword. The picture behind him says he's being promoted as a great hero. It may not be that good, but it seems sufficient to help explain the trope to me.
Fight smart, not fair.
I think a better example could be perhaps Hercule acting all high and mighty and then getting his ass beat. Or something along those lines.
