I think the closest realistic comparisons are probably police forces, military forces, and organised criminals.

(Not implying that these groups are in any way similar to one another in other respects.)

^^I might be offended Bobby.surprised

Not sure who said that an individual wouldn't be able to do much to disrupt criminal activity; what about a small group of like minded people; what if they were funded? Lets say we had a SEAL team or an ODA go up against your neighborhood criminal element; i'd say the odds are against the criminals.

[up]You mean a highly-trained team of military personnel? Presumably with equipment and support from the USG?

Exactly what part of that goes counter to my argument?

Or anyone else with the funds and resources necessary.

I said that a vigilante could be effective if they went up against an average criminal; more so if they targeted individuals higher up the food chain or planned attacks when large amounts of them congregated.

Somebody (possibly you) said that a single individual wouldn't be effective; then went off on the costs of Predator drones...ect

Now how is it that a team of trained and experienced individuals wouldn't be able to make a dent in crime in a respective area?

Okay, you keep repeating what I said, but at the same time, you don't seem to know what I said.

So, I said that: an individual, working alone, cannot make an appreciable dent in crime. Trained, organized, well-funded, well-equipped groups are not individuals. They are, in fact, trained, organized, well-funded, well-equipped groups.
