Intellectual Property.
Experience has taught me to investigate anything that glows.Boo fucking Hoo. If you can't make a decent game in 5 years then frankly you deserve this.
What???, no way!!!
No more KOF¿¿¿
KOF XIII ended the current saga, so I think it's not leaving on a hanging thread.
I love and hate King Of Fighters. It's an excellent fighting series, and it's characters rock, but if it doesn't suffer from Capcom Sequel Stagnation, it ''definitely suffers from Mission-Pack Sequel. I truly cannot tell very many of the games apart.

ALL CREATURE WILL DIE AND ALL THE THINGS WILL BE BROKEN. THAT'S THE LAW OF SAMURAI.The problem is that KOFXIII is currently only in Japanese arcades (and whatever handful of non-Japanese arcades that were dedicated enough to import it), and a potential shuttering of in-house SNK development could mean no home port, shutting out everyone who doesn't have easy access to those arcades from playing the game.
Why? Wouldn't any company that acquires the IP's be willing to put out the most recent ones on every platform available to profit immediately?
It depends... Assuming the property does get bought, they could still decide not to work on any ports for whatever reason. And even if they do create home ports, they could be shoddily done because they're deemed less important than the buyer's other, self-developed works.
If that happens, how would we tell the difference?
They should have spent less time making shitty cellphone games and more time rebuilding their main I Ps after the first closure with quality product, instead of trying to get people to pay 60 bucks for a beta test. Like someone else in this thread said, they kind of deserved this.
What I am hoping for, is that Arcsys or Capcom buys them out like they should have did 10 years ago. KOF XIV running on the MVC 3 or Blaz Blue engine...*drool*

If they have to be bought by another company, it CANNOT BE CAPCOM.
That would be a slap to the face for every SNK/NEO-GEO Fan.
Yep, I'm still here. And exactly why is that?
The developer who did Akatsuki Blitzkampf would be the best, since that game was closest to the KOF style while still being pretty fun.
But that failing, Arc System Works might work if they actually make sure their animations look smooth rather than a series of pictures.
I love how nerds jump to crazy conclusions whenever something mildly interesting happens. Wait, I mean hate. I always get those two confused.
First: SNK denies they're shutting down development
Second: A producer leaving doesn't mean the end of the series. He can be replaced
I thought that the rumor was that the KOF producer was leaving the company and that SNK Playmore was considering leaving the video game industry, not that the company was going to exit because of the producer leaving.
Whew, I was worried there for a bit. Last time they shut down, we got Metal Slug 4 & 5. Don't want that to happen again.

Ugh, I can't believe this. Though, many say that they brough it upon themselves.
Also, what does "IP" stand for?
Yep, I'm still here.
