Creepy adorable little girl
It's not necessarily protective. It stops any magic that could feasibly affect him, including beneficial ones. It arises from his desire for mundanity, so his magical ability enforces mundanity where he is concerned. It is also awkward for other students, who are used to dealing with other students utilizing their own magic.

Supernatural powers? What's that?
My other concept (I might want to merge this with the Metaspace universe). It would probably be an Action RPG:

The story takes place on a advanced-tech planet called Terra 102, populated by Human Aliens with slightly enhanced physical/mental capabilities compared to normal humans. This planet is part of the Galactic Federation, and is ruled by the World President (Rayfer).

Not long before, sentient Pure Magic Beings from a magical realm (Arcanes) visit the planet in the form of humans. These have children with the rich people/nobility, then mysteriously disappear once their child is 2 years old. These children with powers are known as Gifted.

Due to being the heir to rich people, the Gifted children are frequent kidnap victims, and thus the Galactic Federation employs bodyguards to protect these children. The story starts out with a young supersoldier named Ace, sent to rescue the presidents daughter Calia Rayfer from a kidnapping.

After a Time Skip, the Gifted children have grown up into adults, and most of them have learned how to use their powers. The existence of Gifted has been exposed to mankind. Many scientists have worked together with them to produce Magitek far stronger than their previous technology. However, there are also groups on both the human and Gifted sides that show Fantastic Racism towards each other, and have even started magic v.s. tech wars because of it.

Ace and Calia are now part of the Galactic Federation's Space Police, who regularly stop these racism uprisings as well as rogue Gifted.

One day, the Arcane beings return to the planet. They decide to take over the planet by attempting genocide on the muggles. Their original plan was to have children with the nobility so that the Gifted would inherit their parent's jobs, take over the planet and kill/transform the humans. Unfortunately for them, their kids have decided to ally with the humans. The Gifted must work with the humans to defeat their (much stronger) parents to save their world.

tl;dr: Magic is introduced into a futuristic planet by godlike beings, and the consequences that occur. The President's Daughter takes a massive level in badass.

@Morwen: I guess I just meant that, if this makes any sense, it seemed more Beowulfy than Lord Of The Ringsy. I'm not totally sure how authentic it would come off as, but it does feel at this point like it has its roots in something very old indeed.

Hmm... Hi. I will try to give a critique to any concept you put.

Please forgive me for my bad grammar.

My Concept, oh, and in case you wonder, is fantasy:

When a young girl discover that his father was being blackmailed by a criminal group, she escapes from her city, but end up being followed by one of the group's killers. After running endlesly, she fainted at a little town river. She is later encountered by by the town's people. But, the Killer later show's up, and one of the town people reveal himself to be a shadow warrior, and he fights againts the killer.

Better Than It Sounds: A cowardly teenaged glasses girl escapes from home, is pursued by a guy who use fireworks as weapons, and is saved by a one year younger boy who can create winds with a stick. After defeating the killer with the ridiculous name, he decides to take her home. They suck at being friends.
  • Alternative, a fugitive tries to pass as a Generic Guy in a ramdon little town, but then is forced to reveal his identity because of that girl.

@DA: Cool. I've never heard of anything like that.

Was the idea of multiple apocalypses inspired by Mexican/Aztec mythology?
The road goes ever on. -Tolkien
Maybe subconsciously, but consciously the thought originated because I noticed just how many apocalypses happen so early in the Bible, with so little information on the worlds that underwent those apocalypses, and I considered that that perhaps implied that even more civilizations had ended that weren't mentioned because knowledge of them was simply lost.

Weird concept I made a couple days ago, don't know whether to pursue it

Concept: Humans have successfully made stations on the Moon and Mars and world leaders feel that they'll soon be able to start going to other planets beyond our solar system. This changes when a metallic object crashes near New York hours before a United Nations meeting.

The metallic object comes to life and interrupts the U.N. meeting, soon being recorded by news cameras. The object, referring to itself as The Mediator, states that a council of alien species have decided that humanity will not be allowed to go any further into space until they can stop thinking themselves as the center of the universe, as well as stop hating and killing each other.

The Mediator states that the council doesn't want to kill humanity, as that would be counterproductive to their ideals, so giving the human species a 'time out' until they can grow up is the best decision.

It then follows different individuals through a ten year period, as they realize that growing up as a species is more pivotal than they originally thought.

It's basically my way of telling people to stop thinking humans as the center of the universe and to stop hating each other.
"If the initial explosion won't kill us, the second probably will. Also, there will be two explosions."

Definitely has potential, although I would like to see the Mediator challenged during those 10 years. "No fucking alien is going to tell US how far we can go!"
Theres sex and death and human grime in monochrome for one thin dime and at least the trains all run on time but they dont go anywhere.

[up] Funny enough, when I made the concept, I had the idea for a character who has that ideal and starts out as a 'human supremacist' who actually stops people from hating each other, but they begin to start hating the aliens.
"If the initial explosion won't kill us, the second probably will. Also, there will be two explosions."

[up][up] 735: I like the concept, and the theme. But, even great concepts can have bad results. The theme is good, but your idea kinda sounds a bit too anvilicious to me, and bring me more questions.

So, Aliens manage to cooperate with other planets while we just manage to get to our moon? Aliens are especial and Humans Are Bastards. Could work.

Hahahahaha no.

OK, after some more thinking and sketching and outlining, I've modified it to "Villain Protagonist vampire who wants to raise an army of more vampires and ultimately summon Lilith, who in this story is less "demon" and more "force of nature that drains the life out of the world just by existing in it."

Something I've been kicking around for a while, but never really managed to develop.

A mermaid who leaves the sea for land, but not for love or running away: she wants to become a musician. Under the sea there is no music, because water drowns out almost everything but whale song. Up in the air, though, there are more possibilities. Since she has no legs, she uses a wheelchair to get around.

I'm debating whether she keeps her identity as a mermaid a secret, or whether she openly uses it as her "persona" for music, kinda like Ziggy Stardust did with his persona "David Bowie". And that's about as much as I've got for this story.

I actually find that concept funny. Mostly because I grew up with the little mermaid and can't imagine such concept.

Darn, I didn't know Lady Gaga had already tried this. Well, looks like for my research I will be listening to lots of Lady Gaga. And if said Lady is also a character, she'll probably dress as a dragon.

Any suggestions on plot direction? What kind of music she'd gravitate to?
