I'm certain that the cooking of ANOTHER will be told as a flashback, kind of like how Midora and Ichiryuu fighting was told in a flashback.

I don't even know what's going on anymore.

That's been a problem for me for awhile now.

Right now I'm most curious about how the Eight Kings factor into all of this.

It's a typo. manga stream clarified that.

I really get a feeling that the editors pressured Shimabukuro into speeding things up and he decided to skip some things.

Not really. He did something similar with the Ichiryu vs. Midora fight being portrayed as a flashback after he skipped it normally.

All the events in the Blue Grill seem to be similar to that circumstance. Plus Shimabukuro's arcs are generally rather short compared to other Shonen.

The whole thing with Midoriya vs Ichiryuu was confusing to me in general though. I couldn't understand anything of what they were doing or how their powers worked.

But that being in flashback seemed more for dramatic effect. It doesn't really have the same zeal this time around.

So who's the Big Bad?

At this point it seems like Acacia/Neo but I wouldn't at all be surprised if that ended up not really being true or some new eviler thing from space came and usurped the position or something.

I usually avoid asking this question but in this case I'm genuinely curious: why do you think this thread is so much shorter compared to the other well known series that come out regularly?

This thread started in 2011, I think? That always struck me as odd.

Because there's very little to argue about in Toriko. If you haven't noticed yet, the marathon Shounen Jump series threads — see Naruto or Dragonball — get extended because there's always someone with something to complain or argue about in the series. Here? Not much.

Like the One Piece thread being smaller than Naruto and Bleach's,or the Dragonball thread being 400 pages longer than older ones cause we love our circles.

So it's not very long because there just isn't a lot to talk about then?

Fair enough. When you get down to it Toriko is pretty inoffensive.
