TvTropes Tea Drinkers (TTTD):

Oh My
Tea snobbery is annoying as shit. I myself want to learn more about all the finer points of the stuff, but I am not going to look down on someone for drinking canned iced teas or something.

I see this thread and I think "what, are people NOT drinking tea the rule? Doesn't everyone drink tea?"
I don't see why you'd feel ashamed of drinking bottled or canned iced teas.

I don't, but snobs made me believe I should. tongue

[up] Sure, a lot of people drink tea, but there is fewer who drink tea. wink

I can't get through the working day without tea. Especially Rooibos (a South-African tea made from the leaves of a bush) is my favourite, but an Earl Grey or Ceylon are also blends I like.

After years of neglecting tea, I have seen The Light. Desperate for something fruity to drink , I turned to a box of Celestial Seasonings samples and fell for milder fruit flavors like Country Peach Passion and True Blueberry. I take them with some sugar.

I love how tea makes you feel all warm inside.

I want tea. My throat hurts. Meheh.

READ THE 13TH SAGE.
AHR's Mom actually makes very good tea. She has a weird kettle that cooks the tea and water seperately, then mixes them together. I believe it's Turkish.

I've never had Turkish tea, I'll have to try it sometime. Although sadly my microwave is broken so I have to heat up water with a coffee maker for tea.

It is turkish.

And it is friggin awesome.

Even when normal tea is made in it. It's ten times better.

Mmmmmm. Teaaaaa.
I'm jealous now! All I have to make tea in is this crappy coffee pot.

You need a pot like this.

Well, ok, you don't, actually, but it's damn convenient for when you serve tea to more than one person. Only one person, then you don't really need it.

But I can make myself multiple cups at once! Or fill a really big cup twice as fast!

Likes trees.
Because I am a poor student I rely on the occasional sojourn into town for actual good tea, everything from English Fog to white tea to chai, depending on the sale because I am that poor.

If for some reason I cannot get to the only tea shop within 20 odd kilometres, I use a hot plate to commit the great sin of steeping my tea on a burner. I know, I know, but I also drink almost nothing but orange pekoe (D1 for those who care to know) with a splash of milk. In my fabulous hand made mug that hold about 2 cups worth of liquid, and I drink it all day every day.

But god I would give my kingdom for some actual good chai tea right about now, or some loose-leaf Earl Gray, even.
But soft! What light through yonder window breaks? It is the East, and Juliet is the sun! Put out please.

It's been quite a while since this thread was updated...

I myself love a cup of Earl Grey. I have yet to add anything to it, although I want to try adding cream...

What happened to the love for green tea?
I've known about it since the beginning. But I just refused to believe it.

It stopped being the trendy tea, so now it's back to just those of us who love it for itself instead of everybody and their dog talking about it.

I prefer black tea immensely. Green and White teas taste too much of grass or water for my liking.

^^ It's odd to see you not LOCKING a thread you visit.

On the subject of green tea, I just don't think it tastes very good. Black tea is better.

I don't lock or thump in most of the threads I post in.

I like green tea, but it's very easy to screw it up. It's not as forgiving as black tea, in that regard.

^Awwww, yeah. I wonder if anyone could recommend another flavor for me to try? Something more mild, not tart like th raspberry tea that I tried first.

Hm. . . Lady Grey perhaps? It's essentially Earl Grey with a hint of EDIT: something or another. I thought it was bergamot, but apparently Earl Grey already has bergamot. Whatever. Mystery flavour.
