Hey, I drink tea! I love honey vanilla chamomile and green tea.

I don't see how disliking warm beverages is possible but I'm not gonna flip a lid over it, haha. I drink my coffee and tea the full spectrum from "just cool enough not to be painful to drink" to "been sitting next to me forgotten for last few hours" cold.

Once, while supremely hungover, I made a pot of tea without remembering to boil the water first. Needless to say, it was disgusting. tongue
This thread has languished for too long! On an actually relevant note, I'm glad to see that there are so many likeminded people here. I personally like every proper (i.e. made from Camellia sinensis) tea that I've tried (except Darjeelings for some reason). And I've tried damn near every tea that's been mentioned in this thread. (Haven't had hojicha, but it's on my list.)

Not a fan of the Darjeelings either? That makes two of us. Something about them just ain't my style...Not sure what in particular, but there's something about them taste wise that bugs me. Tolerable with cream though.

Darjeeling tea is lovely. It's great to have when you're not in the mood for a heavier black tea.

With milk and no sugar, obviously.

Oh My
Sugar ruins most things that aren't a masala chai recipe. Now a masala chai without sugar or some other form of sweetener just isn't right.

I added that disclaimer because while I am a British tea zealot, opinion differs among British tea zealots on whether or not sugar is an acceptable addition to black tea (milk is, of course, a given). It's about a 50/50 split, I'd say tongue

see I'm the opposite, Sugar is an obvious choice for addition to black tea but milk is firmly in the "NO NEVER" category.

I used to hate black tea with milk. Then we went on a trip (about what, eight years ago?) to Britain. We trekked through the New Forest in the middle of a rainstorm; when we returned to the B&B we were staying at, the owners served us, you've guessed it, black tea with me.
Since then I'm OK with it, though I usually drink my Earl Grey without milk.

Hey, I actually tried a tea I liked. :33 It was tea and lemonade.

I recently got a french press. Those things are awesome. Im probably a little bit odd, in that I will have my tea in every possible way. I have it black, with sugar, with milk, with both, with honey, and with cinnamon and nutmeg. Though I never got very good at making tea with cinnamon and nutmeg.

Blurrggghh.
I said this before, but I am in love with earl grey. It has such a wonderful aroma.

Say, what are some other teas that have very pleansant aroma?
Have you tried Jasmine tea? I'm not a fan, personally, but I can't deny that the aroma is nice. Something with rose petals might be up your alley as well, perhaps French Earl Grey. Black tea flavoured with vanilla is also a very common, aromatic blend.

I absolutely LOVE jasmine tea! It flows in my body, along with earl grey and milk.

Basically, my blood is milk tea. [lol]

I like the smells of most teas. Genmaicha and the mixes for masala chai blends have my favorite scents though. Pu erh smells oddly like fish food to me...

Genmaicha is delightful. When I found out my favourite tea store stocked it and I wouldn't have to buy the bland, prepackaged one anymore, I was stoked.

So, do you have any recommendations for getting into white tea? I tried most green teas I can realistically get my hands on, but I'm running out of options. I might as well broaden my horizon a little.

I was very happy when I found a nicely sized tin of the loose leaf stuff...Like fucking ecstatic. The prepackaged stuff doesn't compare, but it will do in a pinch I suppose.

I wonder why I put up with buying expensive styrofoam cups of tea that tastes like boiling horse piss from the shop at work for so long. I've just taken to bringing a box of Yorkshire Tea with me along with a mug. So much cheaper to only buy a small carton of milk and bring my own mug in. More importantly, it tastes so much better, too.

I got myself one of those annoying summer cold last night and my head is absolutely pounding. Right now I am having a nice cup of green tea. What do you like to have when you are sick?

A good strong Assam.

Mind, this is the solution to most of my problems.

I agree with paged. Assam strong enough to kill a bull will cure any virus. Except HIV.

What type of black tea would you guys say is best? I'm angling for Earl Grey, here, but...

I like tea, but I don't care what kind it is. I can drink practically everything, even if it was laced with uranium.

We are not amused
I never used to drink tea with milk. I was mainly a coffee person, with the occasional black tea. But recently I decided to add some milk for the hell of it, and now I'm pretty much drinking milk tea every day tongue

Since then I've been working my way through Twinning's different tea blends. So far my favorites have to be Prince of Wales and Australian Afternoon Tea. English and Irish Breakfast are pretty good, but I really don't like the smokey ones like Russian Caravan. Haven't tried Earl Grey yet.
