The Representative from Arizona was just shot at point blank (and possibly killed). Very strange things going on.

No decent human being (otherwise I sound contradictory :V) deserves to die and that someone would resort to assassination in this day and age is inexcusable.

Huh. I think that's the second congressperson ever killed on duty (the first being a guy that went to Jonestown).

Without wanting to sound too callous about it, I wonder if this will impact her husband's being the commander of the final space shuttle mission in April.

I hope not. That would be a horrible thing to give up after this.

At least the bystander effect didn't take place and someone tackled the guy.

Reports I'm hearing are that the congresswoman was targeted - she was shot in the head - and then the shooter started shooting indiscriminantly at the crowd.

Reportedly 6 people are dead.

Now they're saying that she survived, but is in very critical condition.

My God, if I'm reading the comments section right on Fox about this, I gotta ask one thing. Who organized the mass trolling event like Anonymous pulls? There's calls all over the place in the vein of "put all the teabaggers in the camps" or stuff like "you gun owners are obstructionists to humanity".

Did Move On.org get shut down and extremist liberals like that have nowhere to turn?

I don't see why nobody else has mentioned it, but I think an obvious connection here is the recent policies regarding illegal immigration that have been established in Arizona.

Good job, whoever you are, all you've done is prove her point and make her a martyr.

It could be that. A lone loon could have had no reason though, which is even sadder.

It could have been a conservative who thought she was standing in the way of immigration policy. Either way that guy is fucking crazy.

She's for gun rights and stronger border security. Also pro-choice, anti "No Child Left Behind", and increased efforts in renewable energy technology. According to The Other Wiki.

To be a little morbid, there's so many congressmen I don't think many people believe it's worth the effort. The other one was Leo Ryan and he was gunned down in South America. For being awesome.
