General All-Purpose Crossover Fiction Thread

: I have no idea who half the characters in that class are but I'm just waiting to see what kind of inevitable shitstorm goes down. Even though I'm normally against exposition blocks like the stuff at the bottom, it seems kinda interesting, though I probably won't remember it if/when I continue reading story.

: I'm honestly not sure how to categorize that story (then again I'm not really the person to be asking on how to categorize/tag stuff). World of Gumball seems to be the primary theme (assuming those characters are the main perspective characters, though I don't know what I'd put down as a second category. Don't really know how many people look in the general game/anime crossover categories, though I don't really do that much fic-surfing myself. There isn't really one series that stands out among the various crossover stuff, aside from gumball.

Well the characters I mainly wanted to center on would be Gumball, Izuku respectively with Megumin and eventually Kazuma having to move out of the way for other characters appearing in the fic later on.

Also been considering Vanellope as part of this crew since there's a central conflict with Fix-It-Felix apparently being found gone to rather strange type of coma (mostly sleeps, but then acts very spastic occasionally). So I think the most central are Wreck It Ralph and The Amazing World Of Gumball, and My Hero Academia. Technically I could stick it to just the former two with various Anime-chars in the sides, but I kind of think Izuku's bit pivotal foil to Gumball, so I think he's got to be there too.

The class thing is meant to be something like an in-universe document with lots of technobabble. We'll be getting an in-universe, much easier to understand explanation. The gist is though is: Deuteragonist Class powers are powers of the kind a supporting party member will have, Main Character class powers are powers the main character of a game will have, etc.Since scientist and government types cringe at having to actually read that sort of thing in their reports, they got the note at the end of the chapter.

I was confused, since it seemed like we'd walked in the middle of an ongoing arc,but with no clue as to when that was. And it seemed a bit too... Everyone Know Everybody Else For Some Reason. Yeah, I understand why it might be hard to classify it. My advice, put it in the category of the perspective character of the opening chapter.

How odd, I did my best explaining why there was a tournament up and what the place was it was set on (hence Anime and Toons kind of getting to meet each other there), and I thought it'd take too long to build the Tournament Arc to the point of the fic I'm at (as it's meant to shoot into the main story from there).

Also I guess it's came off strange for Wattersons to know Matois - though I wanted to explain that later, and it was specifically characters from those series.

I didn't think it was particularly strange that gumball family knew Matois, given the context of the fic, as I kinda assumed they had met somewhere/heard of each other before the chapter started.

Ah, okay. Kind of forgot this was about categorizing in particular.

Anyway, I put the fic to Fanfiction.net now.

Back to my concept about Animated Actor-AU regarding Nui Harime, I had been thinking of a possible plot to run the concept with through, and had become recently interested on Bendy And The Ink Machine - if for the premise it runs with which seems bit inline with my AU at some ways. Had imagined that Inked Bendy would be looking to get himself a functional body, heard/saw Nui Harime's work, and went all the way to be inside the basement of the villa she lives in. The conflict would come out of the fact that Bendy's made mostly of ink - which would ask Nui to come up with a thread material that could hold it together to make him suitable clothing. Other conflict would be Nui's washed-up, cranky persona, which makes it harder for her giving crap about helping the 30s' cult classic of a Toon.

So I'm still on that big crossover idea:

I decided to swap out Robo for Rudy Roughknight as the technology character considering his status as a Holmcross. He even has his own Rocket Skates (in the original version but still). I feel like he's a better counterpart to Trigger as well.

I'm also considering swapping out Johnny for someone else as well. Not sure if he can really go against Zoro, even if he is incredibly Bad Ass in his own right, plus I feel like I want someone who's style contrasts the latters a bit more, like maybe a more western style Swordsman. I'm considering Cless Alvein, who's game I'm familiar with via shitty GBA port that I've never finished.

After having played the first little bit of Talesof Berseria (namely, I'm still in the prologue jailbreak), with no spoilers of how the rest of the game goes, I somehow want to make a thing where Velvet meets the Phantasia crew.

Dunno how or by what means, but I just want to see it.

And now, another exciting chapter of My Gamer Academia, staring Louise and Molly.

Before I checked the link, I found myself expecting a different Louise.

Have found the [PROTOTYPE] trope page, and am now sorely tempted to make an Alex Mercer expy be the dad of an Eve Brea expy in Gamer Academia. He'd be the ethics instructor.

Also really tempted to make Kotomine Kirei the pope. And to make the top American Gamer Captain Gordon, DEFENDER OF EARTH.

So, just remembered to look at gamer fic again. Still am not sure who half the characters are, though some names are more recognizable than others.

Kinda skimmed quite a bit over the second chapter, as it's mostly different peoples getting to know each other and life/academy stuff that isn't that appealing to me. I'm kinda just waiting for plotstuff/interesting developments to start happening.

Also, Pope Kirei is best Pope.

I'm planning an action sequence in the next chap. It's a boss with a trillion hp, they'd have to hit it really hard. Also wondering if I should kill one of them to make a a point about a certain in-universe concept or not.

Am I to take from that statement that in-universe, no Gamer has yet been killed by disease/injury/old age/another Gamer?

Am I also to take from that statement that Curaga/Full-Cure, Raise/Life/Full-Life/Arise/Auto-Life, [[Franchise/{{Pokémon}} Recover]], etc. don't exist/don't work/are heavily nerfed for some reason?

Think it's mentioned somewhere in the new chapter that some gamers have those abilities or powers similar to those abilities. Think there's also the implication that gamers can and do die, possibly by other gamers though it's not specified.

Not sure whether killing of the character should go through, unless it's justified in universe, though I don't see such a death making much impact this early in the fic, other than to establish how frequently people can and will die.

Louise's ability made me think of Pikmin. Also I think it goes in-line with her world where there was elemental magic system, IIRC? Has me wonder if she gets to unlock the special element that she was said to have which I think impaired her magical abilities all along.

So I'm thinking of replacing Johnny like I said before, and I might just go with Link. He's used magic in some games, but that's mostly through items (with the occasional actual spell). And even then, I'd say he's more about the swordsmanship. I feel he's a good character for my power through training. Since there are many version of him, I can kinda pick and choose aspects so he can fit into the role I want him to.

Now I'm wondering about Blanka and whether he's really a good counterpart to Talbain, and vice versa. This is a crossover, so I don't necessarily have to worry about following adhering to the Power Levels of the home series, but I'd also like to avoid nerfing other too much if possible. So it's either replace one or the other. Honestly, I always place this limits on myself when I come up with ideas to see if I can work within those limits, but it's hard. Maybe I should just forget it.

Of course they've died/have been killed. Some people, however, have a pwoer that can deal with it, like if they have an FPS-type Respawn ability. Also, they exist/they work/aren't nerfed, but it all depends on the ability. Revive-type things work, but it also doesn't stop the brain damage from oxygen starvation to the brain, s oyu might end up back, but brain damaged. Also, it's a rare ability. Think more MMORPG than console RPG in terms of how common revives are.

What he said. I was thinking of having the kids be caught up in a terrorist attack, but yeah, it seems a bit too early, so it would likely make the wrong kind of impact.

Overlord has basically been described as medieval evil Pikmin. No special element, she's stuck with setting things on fire, driving people insane and manipulating the minds and bodies of her enemies, like all overlords are.

Planning now the next chapter for my fanfic. Supposed to have the Smash 4 tournament duel between Gumball and Izuku. I had planned Gumball on using Diddy Kong (as befitting his Zach-alter ego taking over him and being highly skilled) and Izuku being Mega Man. Had luckily found this particular video that details such matchup by their respective top players.

Been working out possible ways to write such a match based on how the top players play Smash 4 at EVO, but I realized that due the written medium I'm doing this on, combined with the whole VR-gaming thing where they become the characters themselves and use their moves to fight each other - I thought of "streamlining" the fight to more cohesive whole via taking the common tactics, strings and general moves employed by the top players, and making the above characters use them throughout the match in a way that creates a cohesively exciting fight.

For example, I tend to see lots of F-Airs from Ze Ro's Diddy mixed in with D-Tilts here and there - so I'd try to put the execution of those moves to more concise moments, but showcasing the flexibility or power of such moves in more fluid fashion, as I think Izuku and Gumball will be fighting in a 3D-plane rather than 2D-one as the actual games. Do you think this all could work?

On that end, I wondered who the commentators could be for the semi-finals, and finally settled on an entertaining pair of Sokka and Minori Kushieda. Potentially funny dynamic aside, I sorta would play around how both were around since Brawl-days narrating tournament fights for them. (ATLA ending in 2008 while Toradora got an Anime adaptation that year)

I assume you mean the game rather than the completely unrelated light novel series turned anime.

Overlord seems to be a specific power Louise has, and is not necessarily related to either of those two things. At least that's how it seems from my perspective.

So, in news with that random crossover idea I keep coming up with that will (probably) never be made, I decided to swap out Blanka for a somewhat more obscure character: Long from the Bloody Roar series. I read up on him and he worked rather well I think.

I'm putting so much effort into this I feel like I may actually have to follow up on it at some point.

So after bringing up the idea of Hiei vs Hitsugaya in the Death Battle thread, I decided to make another change to my weird crossover idea. Zoro is out, and Hiei is in. This feels risky, because Hiei has never met a curb he didn't like to stomp. But still I want to give it a try.

I've also decided to replace Jon Talbain with...stick with me Tony Tony Chopper. Why? Craziness really, and I've gained a new appreciation for Choppers different forms. Basically, I'm not binding myself to my original caveat of characters with certain ways of achieving power, and just going with guys I'd like to see.

I've also replace Link with Donovan Bane as well for the other team. So I've somewhat revamped the idea significantly.

Right now it's set up thus:

• Lucy Heartfillia;

• Mega-man Trigger / Volnut;

• Hiei;

• Tony Tony Chopper;

And for the rival group:

• Lenna Charlotte Tycoon;

• Rudy Roughnight;

• Donovan Bane.

Obviously I still need a fourth for the other group. I'd also like a fifth member for both. I might stop binding myself to the characters having similar powers and fighting styles and just going for something else, but that will still take time.
