Oooh, the music of Chrono Trigger...

Hard to determine a favorite, so here are my top three:

Memories of Green

Depths of the Night

And

The Main Theme

I can't help loving it. Always gets me excited.

Try not to forget what you were doing there in the first place

Why has Gato not become a pimp yet? His theme is awesome and he should be a party member.

Also Chrono Trigger is awesome. I only need to get the endings where everyone moves like frogs and the one unlocked by beating the Dream Devourer.

We already got a robot, here. Then we got another one in the sequel. I don't think we need another.

You get the Dreamseeker from defeating the Dream Devourer. To be honest it is kind of pointless considering that you will have pwned everything by now.

Also where is the best place to level grind easily?

[up] I'd say Geno Dome, once you can reach it. There's that conveyor belt at the beginning, which you can get a lot of experience on.
White Hindu
[up]Beware that the conveyor belt is useless once you finish up the Mother Brain sidequest. Too bad I can't think of a good grinding spot afterwards. Which is why I've never encountered Ayla's Bronze Fist.

[up] Right, yes. Go down the belt, and then you can use the chute in the corner to return to the entrance and go through it again. Easy.
White Hindu
[up]I'm fairly certain that you can't go past the first room in Geno Dome once you finish the sidequest there. Thus, no conveyor belt. I know about the chute — I've used it like hundreds of times.

The annoying thing about it's connention to Chrono Cross is that it could have lead to something interesting but kept with something most people hate.

Chrono Cross does happen to be my favorite PS1 RPG and I really like what they did with FATE in that game. Given that game's stellar sales and great scores among users (4.93 on Playstation Network last I checked), sometimes I wonder if the so-called Broken Base is just a Vocal Minority of critics.

Or maybe I'm just seeing things in order to still love such a great game. Just saying this around Chrono Trigger fans is making me uncomfortable.
"What's out there? What's waiting for me?"
Look, I'm just going to say that Chrono Cross had its flaws, and fans have decent reasons to hate it.

If you don't want to start argument, be careful with the Flame Bait.
White Hindu
Yes, I generally have great difficulty distinguishing between flame bait and opinions — if there is a difference, that is. I have been made paranoid about saying anything remotely negative as a result. Thus, my uncomfortableness.
"What's out there? What's waiting for me?"
I don't mind discussing some of the problems CT fans (myself included) have with Cross, but I've been debating this for over twelve years, and I'm pretty much retired.

Hey, I'm stuck on Chrono Cross. I just finished the pirate ship and now I need to go to Water Dragon Isle on the Home World, but the Porre army is still blocking Fossil Valley. How am I supposed to go to Termina?
White Hindu
My memory's a bit fuzzy, but I believe that there's a ship in Arni if you talk to a fisherman there. That's where you are, right?

I wonder what Bonus Dungeon ideas we could think of for Chrono Trigger?

[up]A copy of Chrono Cross!

Just joking.

Lavos' parents!
White Hindu
I always figured that Lavos was an ancient alien race's biological weapon that went horribly, horribly wrong. Just a fan theory, but it lets me make sense of things.

Or maybe Lavos is the brother of Jenova.
"What's out there? What's waiting for me?"
I always saw Lavos as just a really powerful parasitic organism. The Lavos Spawns' implication is that this is how the whole species reproduces.

But that theory is challenged if you don't Discontinuity Cross, because at that point, Lavos being only one of many and the Earth not being in any way unique would fail to account for how it posed a threat to all of Time and existence itself.
Sharknado Warning
[up] That theory is pretty much what Trigger implies.

[up] Wasn't the threat to all time something to do with Schala and the way it was defeated?
Everyone is a little bit insane. It makes the world so much more interesting!
Sharknado Warning
[up]That requires one to make sense of Chrono Cross' plot, which is impossible, as every answer begets a million more questions.
White Hindu
[up] HAHAHAHAHAHA Oh, God!

Oh wait, you were serious. Yeah, I guess it is hard to understand. Unlike Chrono Trigger, which has not a single plot hole in the entire story.
"What's out there? What's waiting for me?"
The main difference is that Chrono Trigger does not take its story nearly as seriously as Chrono Cross. It has plot holes, in the same way that Disney's Aladdin does. It runs completely on Rule of Cool, and only on rare occasions does it try to take itself absolutely seriously.

Cross, however, tries to philosophize, throw out in-depth temporal theorems, create thought provoking moral ambiguity, and weave several plot threads together with a very serious and dramatic narrative. However, many of these things don't work under their own weight, and since they're supposed to be taken seriously, that makes it that much more difficult to swallow.
