Lolnecro.

Now that Spring 2011 is mostly over, what's the consensus on it? Largely good? Largely bad?

I ended up getting disappointed by most of what I was following, but I wasn't watching Ano Hana or Tiger And Bunny, both of which are supposed to be good

Fairly good I'd say.

Lotte No Omocha was great. A Channel, Nichijou, DMW, Hidan No Aria were all good too.

Plan on dling Tiger And Bunny, Denpa Onna Seishun Otoko and Hanasuka Iroha when I have time.

As for bad...X Men.

Didn't watch the rest, so can't say whether they were bad or good.

Heh. X-Men was among the few that didn't disappoint me. Started watchable but not great, and stayed that way

^^There's no No in Hanasaku Iroha.

I thought this season was great. I'd actually recommend about half the shows I tried to watch, as opposed to only three shows from winter.

Dang, so used to every title have the "no" in the middle....I should pay attention to what the title really is. [lol]

^^ It was by far the best of the 4 Marvel Anime, but still very underwhelming...very very underwhelming...

[up] Maybe it's because I've read some of the comics, but I have no idea why you expected the X-men anime to be a replacement for Needless.

Well...Mad House...plus the fact that the premise is...."individuals with their own unique powers do stuff...often including violence"

...and I thought they'd call their attacks like in Marvel Vs Capcom. "Optic Blast!"

I guess it's because I've read some of the comics and I remember you saying you could never get into American comics, but I knew even with a somewhat similar premise, the tone would be very different, so I wasn't surprised one bit. Plus I fail to see what having the same animation studio means for what the shows are actually gonna be like.

That was just me being unrealistically optimistic...god that show was great(ignoring the horrible fansub).

Plus, I thought I would have liked atleast one of the four anime...but...but...who wrote the story for those things?!

It feels like all 4 of the anime were only made because they had successful Hollywood movies(in that case, why not Spider Man? Why Blade?)

Know what Marvel property would make sense as an anime? Ultimo. It's already a manga, drawn by the Shaman King guy no less! And since it was originally created by Stan Lee(although I have no idea what he did besides pitch the idea to the mangaka), it's Marvel...I think.

I think Blade was specifically requested by Madhouse. It has a different director than the rest of them. But, yeah, I've no idea why Spider-man isn't in there

X-Men was easily the best of the Marvel-Madhouse productions; that's not saying much, true, but it was enjoyable, even if the ending was disappointing.

As for the other shows I've been watching: Tiger & Bunny is fun enough. Showa Monogatari is fine, but it'd benefit from a more regular update schedule, given how slow and uneventful it is. Hyouge Mono is awesome, but at one episode subbed per month rate, and given that it'll be 39 eps long, it might put many people off.

I've given up hope on Showa Monogatari getting subbed anytime soon. I can barely find the raws for it...
