Well, google translate thinks dracul means "devil," so that's not being helpful here.
Technically correct, as "dracul" in Romanian can mean both "dragon" and "devil". Kind of makes sense if you remember that the Serpent from the Book of Revelation is identified with the Devil himself.

Fiat iustitia, et pereat mundus.Little Dragon of the World Tree would tie in an ominous Norse reference to the mix.
The Revolution Will Not Be Tropeable@Marq: I think you need to step back a little. What is your character most known for? What trait best personifies your character? For instance, if it's that he's the ruler of Transylvania, then "The Dragon of Transylvania" works best; or if he's infamous for impaling lots of people of spikes, then "The Dragon of Spikes" or "The Dragon of Blood" might work best.
Basically, the title has to relate to the character and make sense in context. Otherwise, the title would be meaningless and look Narmy.
Oh, he has other titles that do that (yes, including "The Lord Impaler", and "Dark Lord of Transylvania"). This particular title, however, would be one that is used as a common designation by the multinational Church Militant order (may or may not be used by the resident Magical Society) after a few "altercations" between them that proved him in their eyes to be much more of a threat to humankind's existence as a whole than the mere vampire lord that the uninitiated would assume him to be. He's more or less the Vampire Monarch, BTW.
A reference to Nidhoggr, eh? I'll keep that one in mind.

Fiat iustitia, et pereat mundus....so just to be sure, is this for some sort of Nasuverse fan work?
"..."No, but the Dracula character in particular and the vampire race to a lesser extent draw upon Nasuverse's two main vampiric species (Dead Apostles and True Ancestors) for some inspiration.
Fiat iustitia, et pereat mundus.Hm. For some reason my mind keeps going along the lines of the Wyrm of Vermillion Streams.
"..."... Eureka! "Wyrm of Scarlet* Perdition"! And on a related note, I've been bestricken with the title of "Serpent of Abyssal Chaos".
Thanks for the help!

You fell victim to one of the classic blunders!Combat Service? Sorry, maybe someone can come up with something better.
Anyway, I'll also be needing a name for an experimental project that involves giving a super Adaptive Ability to a person. You know, something that sounds cool and doesn't demand Unfortunate Implications. :P

Help?.. please...Project Assimilate or Project Remix?
Depends; is the project leader a Borg or a DJ?
The Revolution Will Not Be TropeableHe's a Mad Scientist. Quite an evil one too. XD
Mainly I want the project name to work with a line I have at the end of a chapter when he releases the subject on a main character.
Something along the lines of... "Experimental project (insert name here). The aim, to test our manufacturing of a reactive adaptation ability. The hypothesis, the intruder will be utterly slaughtered!"

Help?.. please...Project Proteus, Project Amorphous
www.kingdomsofevil.com http://bensen-daniel.deviantart.com/ https://twitter.com/bensen_mProject Galapogas?
Theres sex and death and human grime in monochrome for one thin dime and at least the trains all run on time but they dont go anywhere.Project Prophylaxis? Doesn't quite mean what you want, but...
The Revolution Will Not Be Tropeablex8(mercenary company) Something with 'black' in it? It's a reference to their lack of national colors(as in flag colors), to Blackwater and to the real-life Black Company.
I need a name for one of the humanoid species in my book. They are reptilian and have an aptitude for magic. I really need a better name than my other one. Or if you know any mythical creatures that might fit the bills.
@Eagal - How about something really mundane, like say, North Security?
I'm a (socialist) professional writer serializing a WWII alternate history webnovel. What about the Irish Private Army?
Or would that be too unsubtle?
TV Tropes's No. 1 bread themed lesbian. she/her, fae/faerThe Telchines were more ichthyan, but otherwise they're similar (and they need more love anyway). There aren't really a lot of reptilian races in mythology... this might be helpful, though.
The Revolution Will Not Be TropeableIn the interest of Calling Your Attacks, what to call a move that ignites concentrated pockets of oxygen to create an explosion, Roy Mustang a la mode? Alliteration preferred. I was thinkin' something like Stellar Salvo.
You fell victim to one of the classic blunders!Thermometric might be a good word to have in there (since that's basically what such an explosion is).
I should point out that oxygen on its own can't burn....

I think the "son of the dragon" meaning is connotative/figurative as well.
And for the record, the Dracula that I'm writing is more or less a Physical God among garden-variety vampires — as in, he's more like what you'd get if you fused Castlevania!Dracula and Hellsing!Dracula together, along with a measure of Arcueid Brunestud's more absurdly broken powers/abilities. You know, something like Old World Of Darkness's Antediluvian vampires.
