I think they play a sort of deconstruction of Papa Bear with Ethan Mars...after all if he didn't go through all that he wouldn't have been killed in the game and he is saved by the actions of others at the end
It's not exactly naive. And it can happen. But it's tough. And definetly worthwhile.

Well, I can think of Blake is a Deconstruction of Cowboy Cop because his brutal methods really has no progress in the Origami Killer case.
