What boggles my mind is the fact that the thing collapsed in the first place. I mean, come on, this is the North Central. You have to take into account that there'll be snowstorms, including some really nasty ones. What was the engineering team doing?
That said, I'm glad at least that no one was hurt. Although I have to admit, if it happened during a game, as long as no one was hurt, it would have been hilarious.
It was a pretty epic snowstorm, mind you. From what I've heard on NPR, the design was sound and they recently inspected it and called it good to go. It gets inspected once every four years. They stopped work de-snowing it in the evening due to safety concerns to the workers, but had planned on starting again the next morning.
