Either Juliette, or a cameo as a previous auditioner for Lisa that Greg warns away from the production.
Who will they cast as Amber, Greg's mother, and that acting teacher in San Fran?
Luminous beings are we, not this crude matterYou know what I think is one of the funniest things about the film? Besides, well, everything else? It's the fact that Tommy Wiseau tried to go the Parody Retcon route and claim that it's suppose to be a comedy. I've heard that supposedly even the DVD box advertises the film as a comedy too {I don't know for sure though. I saw the film online years ago and never saw the actual DVD}. Yet all it takes is one curious viewing of the film to see how much of a blatant lie that was. Silly Wiseau, the comedy has to be intentional.
I've seen the DVD. It does indeed say "Check out this black comedy; it's a riot!"
That is what makes me think that Wiseau may not be too oblivious, after all.
…I've also read that Wiseau had made a documentary about homeless people… is that a thing? —'.`—
Flippé de participer à ce grand souper, je veux juste m'occuper de taper mon propre tempo.I have a theory on why this movie and Plan 9 from Outer Space are generally considered So Bad, They're Good, whereas Birdemic is So Bad, It's Horrible.
Most of what went wrong with The Room was in pre-production (i.e. the script, mainly). The rest is pretty much passable.
In Plan 9 from Outer Space, both pre-production and production went wrong. The script was terrible, and one almost gets the impression Ed Wood wasn't aware that he could do a take more than once if something about the first one was off.
Birdemic saw all three stages – pre-production, production, and post-production – go straight to hell. Besides the issues the above films had, the sound mixing and editing is atrocious, rendering the movie virtually unwatchable.

Ceterum censeo Morbillivirum esse eradicandum. There was still plenty going wrong with The Room during production. Just read The Disaster Artist.
The key thing with both Plan 9 and the Room is effort that is undermined by incompetence. Both Wood and Wiseau honestly thought they were making genuinely great films, ones that at worst they had to compromise some things on. There's a certain charm to "terrible, but with passion" that will always trump "terrible due to apathy".
James Nguyen did seem to care about Birdemic to some degree, but the film is still unbearable because it so much of it reeks of not caring to make an effort in fixing things. Its a feeling that isn't compensated by a director's love of movies like Wood had or a bizarrely interesting interpretation of human dialogue that Wiseau possessed.
Still waiting for a Legion of Losers movie...I dunno why these claims of "Birdemic is just horrible it isn't fun to watch" are coming in. I've seen multiple showings happen among different dorms I used to live at, and they were having fun laughing at it or throwing stuff at the screen. Even The Room has its unbearable scenes.
I was in LA when this billboard was there for like 2 years◊. At the time, I had no idea what the fuck it was.
EDIT: It was there for FIVE years. No wonder I kept seeing in on my bicoastal visits LOL

So, aside from Disaster Artist, we now have Room Full of Spoons.
I take it this isn't the discussion thread for Room, which just opened at my local theater?
It is not.
It does bring to mind the most tasteless and unnecessary crossover ever.
Johnny: Anyway how's your sex life?

Still waiting for a Legion of Losers movie...Hey, you guys think it'd be insane if the real Tommy Wiseau made a Real-Person Cameo somewhere in The Disaster Artist?

I'm… not sure Wiseau is very fond of the book.
Flippé de participer à ce grand souper, je veux juste m'occuper de taper mon propre tempo.I'm going to see this movie on Saturday night in a theater. I'm actually a little nervous; I know the crowd is more like that of a sports stadium or a Twitch chat than that of a typical movie. People cracking jokes, lobbing insults, lobbing spoons, etc. Probably many of them drunk. I've seen footage of the crowd, and it's absolutely nuts. But I can't wait to see how wonderfully bad it is. I love what I've seen of it in Nostalgia Critic's review.
You are in for an absolute treat. It's basically like watching the Rocky Horror Picture Show.
Ha ha ha. What a story, Mark.I find it amusing that the Gold Digger Claudette is one of the sanest and pragmatic of the cast.
Srg. Dornan: Troper, what are you doing here?! Get back to your post!!!
