What does it matter if Chibi has tiny in his name? Honestly despite them both being obscure more people have probably heard of Chibi than Rainbow.
Name really wouldn't matter here.
He'd still be sized up accordingly if in.
And he did fight a decent amount in the original game(the first one, I can't speak for other ports/remakes/sequels/prequels/spin-offs, etc.), so I could see him working rather well. He's got a cord and knows how to use it!
Quest 64 threadYeah. I could see the seven tools (probably the copter, mug, blaster, and squirter) being his specials while his basic attacks have him using the plug for the most part.

I know somebody at Smashboards made a moveset, but as I haven't played anything but the first game, I couldn't make a full one, as there was probably more power-ups, etc.
Final Smash might be difficult, though.
Quest 64 threadYeah that could be challenging.
Uhh...Giga-Robo comes down and wrecks everything?
Can you control Giga-Robo? Even if that happens, willing to bet it'll still be better than Brawl!Giga Bowser?
Quest 64 threadI'm being a little factious, but the fact remains, one of the things that makes Chibi-Robo such a delight is the scale. You take away the transformation of an ordinary house into a massive kingdom, and you take away the soul of Chibi-Robo. It'd be like if Kraid were tiny.
I sure said that![1]◊
I have a message from another time...I don't buy size is a legitimate reason to keep him out of Smash. He's in a fighting game. Not an adventure game(save one mode).
Now, I could see him maybe too peaceful for it, which is a reason why Sakurai doesn't include an Animal Crossing character is playable, though.
Quest 64 threadThat was Early-Installment Weirdness and you know it. He's been a titanic monstrosity in ever single other appearance, including Zero Mission.
I'm saying something like: "Being small is one of Chibi's definitive characteristics. His actual size is something that's meant to impact us, much like exceptionally large bosses in other games."

I sure said that!Even after resizing does it's job, Chibi should still be the smallest fighter, if we talk of Chibi being in Smash realistically.
The New Age of Awesome is here! Not even the sky is the limit! To be strictly fair, saying "every other appearance" amounts to what, Super Metroid, and Zero Mission? And the beta of Prime, if you're being charitable?
I'm not saying I disagree with you. Just that quantity is not the best argument here.
Melee also
I have a message from another time...So he'll be near Kirby size then. Maybe slightly smaller. He'd still be small.
And doesn't everybody fight big bosses in Adventure Mode(and Classic at the end, not counting the Giant fights) anyway?
The regular multiplayer really doesn't matter when it comes to size. He'd still fit in well enough in Adventure Mode, which is kind of where the story is.

Quest 64 threadFunny thing - I'm pretty sure Chibi-Robo would still be bigger than Olimar.
Long live Cinematech. FC:0259-0435-4987Appearances don't count unless they're in a canon source. Come on.

What Bad Wolf said. Although that might be the main Smash size. But they didn't make that consistent with Ridley's Smash sizes, so...
@nomuru: Yes. I'm pretty sure Chibi-Robo is bigger than Olimar in canon when you compare them to regular household objects. Wasn't something like a nickel or whatever in Pikmin freakin' gigantic compared to a burger which was fairly large in Chibi Robo?
Quest 64 threadOlimar is the size of a quarter.
You cannot firmly grasp the true form of Squidward's technique!...
Fair point.
I retract my previous statement, though I'll maintain that Rainbow seems like a better fit.

I sure said that!I haven't played Captain Rainbow, but he could be, who knows.
@Amom: Yeah, Chibi-Robo is definitely bigger. From what I remember, he around the size of maybe a GBA SP(unfolded) height-wise. Thinner, though.
Quest 64 threadAnd that can be all the excuse needed to put the child's bedroom from Smash 64 in as a stage!
Also, @Captain Rainbow theme song: EARGASM.
Insert witty and clever quip here. My page, as the database hates my handle.Isn't the Pikmin world on a similar scale to the Chibi Robo one? Because being so small didn't stop Olimar from being playable.
My standard Anime Theme song game variant rules: [Censored by ACTA]How tall is this Chibi Robo character you guys are talking about?
Solution: new game where Chibi Robo fights the Custom Robo bots, and Olimar, and all the other tiny characters. Someone said about the size of an unfolded GBA SD?

Me and my friend's collaborative webcomic: Forged Men
Plus, any character in Super Smash Bros is awesome publicity to relatively unknown Nintendo franchises.
