Nah, the Anime version is not in Smash. Just the game version. Well, a similar version to the Anime, yes, but the actual carbon copy of the Anime versions(Best Wishes doesn't count since it came out WAY after both Smashes) weren't in Melee/Brawl, to what I remember. Or atleast not in Brawl.
Best Wishes got a similar one to Smash, but they're both similar to the game version, being a .wav or .midi.
The two Anime-only versions have no game appearances yet.(Rock and Orchestrated, if you will) The Rock version was in Marowak's main appearance when he was with a Samurai, right before the Indigo League itself.
Could you embed that one? I can't get my Melee game up, so... I'd like to hear it.

Quest 64 threadY'know what, listening to the two of them one after another, you're right, they are clearly different recordings. Though personally, I think the Melee version sounds a bit overproduced, being a bit thick on the choir and mixed oddly, to the point where even Phil Spector couldn't make it sound anymore overproduced
Insert witty and clever quip here. My page, as the database hates my handle. You're talking about Brawl's version, right? The Brawl version is more in line with the game's version, but the Melee version is very clearly based on the anime version. Listen to them all.
P.S.: I don't know how to embed, cause I can't find a forum markup thread or something

Please help out our The History Of Video Games page. It's in Show Markup Help right near the bottom left.
Also, thanks. ...I'm not talking about the Pokemon Stadium theme. I mean the Pokemon Gym Theme, Waxing Name. They're entirely different songs.
They're both awesome, though. I prefer the game version of the Stadium theme(specifically Brawl's), and the anime version of the Kanto Gym themes.(both Indigo League ones, Orchestrated and Rock)

Quest 64 threadOh, that one!! Yeah, I know and love that one!
Insert witty and clever quip here. My page, as the database hates my handle. You can tell how happy I was to learn they atleast put the game version into Brawl of that theme.
Unfortunately, they combined it with the Evolution theme, ruining the whole thing. :/ For me, anyway.
However, it could happen. In most cases, if a game theme was turned into an anime theme, that one could appear too. All of the music had been from a game or a preview from one. Sonic 2006's instrumental theme never appeared in the actual game, it just a preview/game trailer version, and probably got into Brawl just because it wasn't from the actual PS 3 / 360 versions. XD
Quest 64 threadHeh, I actually kinda like a chunk of the music from Sonic '06. Shame most of it was wasted on such a terrible game.
Insert witty and clever quip here. My page, as the database hates my handle.Funny thing is, I loved that game, and couldn't stand Unleashed.
But anyway, if the glitches weren't so horrendous, it would've actually been pretty good, IMO.
I wanted the real "His World" song, not a lame instrumental. I still wanted a Shadow song in, and considering not only is Shadow an Assist Trophy, but his game was on a Nintendo console. Also, what disappointed me the most about the Sonic songs chosen is not an actual single "Battle"-type song was chosen.(not the game, but stuff like multiplayer versing, etc.) Takes Adventure 2's battle them where you could have a Chao Walker face Eggman, stuff like that.
Course music is nice, but a fighting game should have actual fighting music too. What's worse about no Shadow theme appearing, is that Golden Sun, an AT only appearance, got music. One Shadow song over a Sonic 2006 song would've been nice. I Am(All of Me) would be my choice, since All Hail Shadow is kind of a poor choice when Shadow isn't playable. XD
Quest 64 threadI would really be happy if they add Silver's theme* in some way or form the next game, preferably in the Pokemon stadium stage they do.
And I don't think any of Shadow's themes would have fit Green Hill very well. Maybe they should have put in the Sonic 2/3 boss music, or one of the boss themes from Sonic Adventure 2 (Suitable Opponent, Gun Mobile, Shut Up, Faker etc.) or something like that, though.

My standard Anime Theme song game variant rules: [Censored by ACTA]I like Unova's Route 10 if we're talking route themes.
Maybe a medley of Sonic boss themes would work, similar to the Kirby boss medley? If not, I'd take the Sonic 2 boss music or "E.G.G.M.A.N."
And having "All Hail Shadow" would be just awesome.
They should put Knux's theme in there, as unlike Sonic he doesn't chuckle!
Dammit, I really need to get back to playing that. I haven't gotten past Castelia, and at this rate (I haven't played since around when it came out) I don't know if I ever will.

Insert witty and clever quip here. My page, as the database hates my handle.I'm hopeful for some Uprising remixes (a metal-ish version of 'The War's End', or fully-orchestrated 'Dark Pit' in particular). Although unlikely, more MOTHER series tracks would always be welcome, and the Metroid Prime games remain as repositories of great music that weren't fully utilised in Brawl. ('Dark Samus', anyone? 'Rundas'? 'Phendrana Drifts'?)
I'm also curious about the game's original theme - after how oversaturated Uematsu's Brawl theme was, I can hardly expect them to drop it entirely, and they shouldn't, but it'll be good to have another Smash-exclusive theme.
(Speaking of which, whatever happened to Metacrystal? That definitely deserves a remix.)
...RE: Mother: I dunno, for a series with so few characters in the game and such (relatively speaking) little popularity/fame, it seemed to be a bit overrepresented, especially with the stages (the biggest stage in the game!), the music (on that stage there seemed to be more possible music tracks than any other stage), and in Subspace (a whole world dedicated to it). Don't get me wrong, it's a great series, but it just didn't seem to be proportionally represented when compared to other series in the game.
RE: Kid Icarus: I haven't actually played the game, but I have heard some music from it, and it is awesome, especially "Lightning Battle".
EDIT: You know what might be cool (but probably will never happen)? An Elite Beat Agents or Ouendan stage. The only problem I can see with that, though, is that they'd have to license the music, which consists of actual, non-video game songs, and that'd probably be pretty expensive just for the sake of fanservice. (Although fighting with "Walkie Talkie Man" playing in the background would be pretty kickass.)
Maybe if SEGA gets more representation they could put some music from a Jet Set Radio game in there, though those games were never on a Nintendo console...hmm, maybe more Sonic Rush music instead, then?

Insert witty and clever quip here. My page, as the database hates my handle.Next Game should include Planet Wisl (Act 1) and Egg Nega Wisp Armor (part 2)
I have a message from another time...Well, 64's credits theme reappeared in Melee as the remix for Final Destination, and Brawl included both the original style credits, the Final Destination remix, and the Giga Bowser remix remix. And Melee's main theme returned as well, both as a stage theme and remixed as the Boss Battles theme. So I don't doubt we'll get a Brawl theme song, probably the theme from Final Destination and/or Battlefield, and as a main menu option like Melee's.
You cannot firmly grasp the true form of Squidward's technique!Brawl's Main Theme will show up in both versions of SSB 4, I'm sure. I mean, we're not talking about a smaller theme like the Metal Battle/Metal Mario ones.(slightly justified missing in Brawl, since there is no specific Metal Battle stage, just "could happen" type of thing)
I'd be disappointed if it didn't. And I don't even like it that much. -_-
I'm also hoping that they actually add in a few more "character" themes. I don't mean the victory music after VS. I mean one's specifically for a character. I.E. One of Sonic's main themes, some from cameo characters(Assist Trophies, Stage Elements), and hopefully from some guys who almost made it in.(like Mewtwo was nearly there)
Quest 64 threadMother is fairly well represented, though it could definitely go for some more supplemental stuff like stickers/trophies.
I'm pretty sure the concept of Law having limits was a translation error. -WanderlustwarriorYou know what's just plain silly? The lack of an Ultimate Chimera trophy despite it both having a 3D model and being a prominent stage feature. Usually they try to include trophies for all the stage features and items.
You cannot firmly grasp the true form of Squidward's technique! The fact that they have a trophy for the Trophy Stand just makes it more ridiculous.
"i'm like the pimpmaster hustledaddy of all snippy bookshrews" -Dave StriderWell, that IS an item, so that's understandable that they'd include it. They left out some character-generated items like Turnips though, though I can understand not making trophies for "Wario's Broken Bike's Tires" or "Gyro Disc That ROB Shoots"
You cannot firmly grasp the true form of Squidward's technique!
I really want a route medley in the next Smash, especially for either Red / Blue or Gold / Silver. The earliest Pokemon games' route music had such a distinctive "adventurous march/fanfare" feel that would likely make pretty much all of them awesome when played by an orchestra (which, given how much the Smash soundtrack has gravitated to orchestral adaptations, is ideal).
If anything, give me my Lake Of Rage remix. I can take not having Route 4 or Route 11. But give me my Lake or Rage, dammit.
