I agree that anime characters don't fit with the theme of celebrating video games and Nintendo. But I enjoy a few anime/animesque games on Nintendo systems.

And depending on how you look at it, the Pokemon characters could be considered anime characters that originated from a game (Smash Lucario is apparently the one from the movie)

I get that. And I've already professed my love of Lucina and the Fire Emblem series as most of you know. I do however have a problem with characters not from Nintendo being a part of Smash.

I hope to God that doesn't happen. Ever.

It's too ridiculous...they're pretty much Nintendo characters anyway.

Sonic, Megaman, Pacman, and Snake Ryu might not be Nintendo characters, but they've done well on Nintendo systems.

That was just me asking what the fan reaction would be if an anime character was suddenly announced for the game. I wasn't asking who you'd like to be in the game.

My friend said that people would probably squee if, say, Goku was added.

Also, I'll agree that saying that "anime games belong on the PS 4" is very negative thinking, but it has no place in regards to both Smash and my original question.

Which Goku, the one from Dragonball or this one.

Some people don't seem to know that this one exists and mention "Goku" as almost a joke to troll up rage. ;p

[up]When I say Goku, I mean Son Goku.

Also, do you need something special to play Super Smash Bros Crusade? Like an emulator or something?

[up]No, it's a standalone program. Same with (the much, much better) Super Smash Flash 2.

There ARE companion programs like JoyToKey and XPadder that allow controller compatibility that I strongly recommend for both games, though.

[up][up]That is Sun Wukong, not Son Goku. The names "Goku" and "Son Goku" have fallen into the One Mario Limit.note

[up]Crusade does have an overall larger roster than Smash Flash 2.

Though I need to play Crusade in order to judge it. I love me some Smash Flash 2. Especially playing as Mario, Samus, Wario, Fox, Captain Falcon, Tails, and Goku

[up]Bigger does not mean better. Crusade goes for quantity above quality by a long shot.

It has its merits, but as a Smash fangame, it's definitely the weaker of the two if you ask me. (That said, I do keep both on my computer.)

Does anyone think we might get some sort of announcement relating to Smash (and possible Ballot details) with the Comic-Con coming up?

Some of you may remember when I said, somewhere in this thread, that my method of learning how to beat a certain character is using them.

So let me take this off my chest: Yesterday, after taking beating after beating from a For Glory nobody from the point he picked Little Mac (and I won every previous match), I figured it was about time I'd learn to use him once and for all, and I started picking Mac every fight now.

Now every For Glory player with any speck of skill is DEVOURING me. I feel completely powerless with Little Mac, something that never happened with any other character, but I know that if I cannot overcome this hurdle I'll never be able to consistently defeat crappy Macs, let alone good ones.

Yet, after learning from tutorials, I STILL get my ass kicked, I have no idea what to do!

Don't side-b off the edge.

My experience with Mac is that it takes a bit of a different mindset to play him. You pretty much have to train yourself to not try and go for aerials, although I think there's one that's somewhat decent. And while it can be easy to play an aggressive Mac, sometimes being slower(for Little Mac) can be better. Most of the Little Mac players I've seen tend to go for a lot of up close and in your face tactics, which aren't as effective when they can be easily read. The one person I know who tried something different went for a less aggressive playstyle and it worked much better, albeit partially because it surprised me at first.

It's also important to remember he has a grab, despite being able to KO anyone if the KO punch connects. Speaking of the KO punch, it can be used as a recovery move or to push opponents if it doesn't connect. His dash attack is good, but I wouldn't rely on it too much since it can be quite predictable.

Play Mac like you were playing Punch Out: dodge everything and punish. tongue

I haven't really dabbled with Mac, so I can't say much about real tactics, but one thing of note is that his specials are significantly farther reaching and more powerful when used from the ground instead of the air, as far as Side and Up B goes. Not sure if Down B has any changes to it in the air. I think Neutral B is also nerfed if unleashed airborne...

His side tilt is a bit ridiculously stronk though.

I really wish they would have made Starfy a playable character. Seriously, it was a huge missed opportunity. I'm a huge fan of the series, and it deserves more representation. Not to mention the first Starfy game was released on the Japanese Wii U Virtual Console last month. We didn't even get a stage or anything, just a useless assist trophy! Unfortunately, the only Starfy game the US got was the worst in the series (But still a good game), and despite getting good reviews and having a dedicated cult following sold poorly (It also sold the worst of the series in Japan). The first 4 games are better, and the reason No A gave for not localizing them is utter BS (They said they were "too Japanese", when much more Japanese games like Okami and Katamari Damacy were released in the West and did well, and they localized freaking MUSCLE MARCH of all games!).

As much as I love my waifu, Lucina's throws suck.

I kind of rely on her running slash to set up for a basic combo before I send them flying with a side smash or attempt to do Dancing Blade but end up botching it because the timing is shit and getting hit with a KO punch.

Man this new shield stun thing really helped Yoshi out, unnecessarily. Egg Spam is even more obnoxious to go against and all of his moves that were already decently safe are even safer.

I think simply increasing hit stun all around for every attack was a bad move. They would have been better off picking and choosing what characters needed to apply more shield stun because I feel like the gap between characters has only increased.

I'm pretty sure the concept of Law having limits was a translation error. -Wanderlustwarrior

I think in the next update they'll be seriously revamping hit stun for a lot of moves. Particularly in the higher tiers.
