Thought disorder. Sounds a lot like True Art. Or like me, for that matter.

Discuss.

Thought disorder is a misnomer - it's really a speech disorder. It may or may not reflect an underlying disturbance in thoughts. Aphasia can cause similar symptoms, so clearly sometimes it's just their speech.

If I'm asking for advice on a story idea, don't tell me it can't be done.

Can't it be a disorder of formulated thought? Not all thought is made of words...

Is it?

I may have this, as a consequences of my aspergers. I make conclusions that to my family members make no logical sense

Well, I'm suffering from an early case of Complex Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder, as well as a tad bit of Pervasive Development Disorder Not Otherwise Specified, and who can forget the borderline schizophrenia I'm getting? Not to be confused with that one disorder where all your emotions have names and don't like to talk to each other. I have that, too.

Also, is there a scientific name for "mind subconsciously believes life is a movie?" Whenever I think of memories, I don't feel like I'm thinking/talking about a person or anything; I feel like I'm just doing speculation on a character in a piece of literature. I even talk like I'm narrating said movie/book, entirely subconsciously. As a result, my thoughts are divided between "WAKE UP THIS IS REAL, LET'S TALK REAL" and "WHOA, THIS IS ONE HELL OF A MOVIE," and I end up talking like a narrator who's 59% unsure of what he's saying.

But yeah. My thoughts don't even make sense when I'm thinking them. Occasionally, I'll get something, like, say... "Pie and hunger." I'll then process it in two different ways— "I like pie, and I'm hungry. I should go get some food," and, simultaneously— "This character likes pie, and he is apparently hungry. I wonder what this has to do with the current scene? Could it be foreshadowing something?" As a result, I'll walk into the kitchen, see a pie, eat it, and be like "Ah, yes, of course, it was foreshadowing the cut back to the kitchen! Mmm, this is tasty. :D"

And that's BEFORE we account for emotions. Crap, you do NOT want to account for emotions. If I'm feeling perfectly happy, but Mister Jealousy inside me says ONE thing that makes even a little bit of sense, I'll suddenly be jealous of my cat. I'll also be mad at the pie for being so round. Now, luckily, Mister Anger rarely shows up. He tends to be late to the meetings, y'know? Me and the guys think it's 'cause he's doing something nasty at home. Perhaps writing an angry fan letter to Valve for taking so long with Episode Three, and with no Mister Common Sense (that's the guy who thinks in movie logic) to explain to him why it is best that Episode Three takes forever.

Then we get to a more recent problem of mine— my mind is getting very blurred these days. I can't remember much of my own life beyond a day, but if I think of that one movie that stars D Jay 32.. well, I can remember snippets. There are a few scenes that stand out completely, like the one of The Father and the Chair.. but I'm still speculating on the symbolism used in that one. I think some of the dialogue mentioned by the father character in the recent scenes seem to be either alluding to the aforementioned scene, or (hopefully not) foreshadowing to things to come. I feel sorry for the main protagonist at this point, though. D:

...there. That's how I think. It's orderly when I don't know what I'm talking about.

https://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/posts.php?discussion=12908448750A68202400&page=1 It's all in there. >_> But yeah. The odd thing is, I seriously wasn't trying to be funny or anything like that. o_o I was just.. trying to explain how my mind works. Except.. it didn't... work that well. One problem with me is that, when I type, I type word-for-word how I would speak the sentence. I don't use typing's luxury of waiting and thinking my sentences through. I just.. type. Hence my overuse of ellipses a lot. Except I really talk way worse than this.

Yes. I'm rather glad that it does. I'd hate for it to sound exactly how I feel. Gah, I don't know if I've ever been able to accurately convey my emotions in a sentence, or a paragraph, or.. or anything. As long as I'm making people laugh, that's good. ^^ I definitely feel sympathy for those who have even worse thought disorder than I do, though. D: That's just.. really gotta suck. At least I remotely know what I'm trying to say, and I can usually figure out the proper wording. ..I hope I'm not derailing the topic or anything. Somehow. D: Though, coincidentally, Wikipedia says derailing is another symptom of the good ol' eponymous disorder, so.. bah, I forgot where I was going with this.
