It's quite controversial, because on the one hand it's a stealth game in World War II, and on the other hand, it takes certain...liberties with its source material.

Despite taking a few liberties to expand the story a little, they actually did a very good job with the film and everything about it from the script to the aesthetic. Only reason why it's got such a strong Hate Dumb is because the Dr Seuss fanbase is unpleasable.

Although the special effects were excellent, the writing could've used some work. And it dragged on and on needlessly; there were quite a few scenes that could've been cut out without affecting the plot or characterization much.

Um. Barcode 711's contribution seems entirely independent of what went before and after, so:
The series is widely agreed to have started brilliantly, with superb air battles and dramatic plot, but extreme budget problems leads to numerous Bottle Episodes and the overwhelming of the main plot with romantic drama.
