One reference isn't exactly strong canon, but I wouldn't call it something to discount.
By the way, do you have these win quotes? I suck at fighters.

There's no space in the name. There's also the entire character of Sanae, who completely fails to mention anything futuristic. Actually, the entire third chapter of WaHH wouldn't make sense if she was from Mary and Renko's time, since they'd finished physics, and would know whether cold fusion was possible
Anyway, win quotes
Thank ye. These quotes are interesting.
But yeah. I now think that there may be some weird time shit going on. Considering Yukari, I doubt time would be an obstacle. Speaking of whom, she is pretty much a cosmic horror. A humanoid one, but something very eldritch nonetheless. Again, Nyarlathotep. After all, they are both master trolls.
There's no space in the name. The Tohnifun Yukari vs. Ran doujin had Yukari be the extension that an eldritch horror slipped into the real world in order to open a portal for it to come through.
But then Yukari met a fox and her priorities shifted and she ate the horror to gain enough power to beat Ran.
Forever liveblogging the AvengersI wonder what would happen if Maribel and Renko were actually successful. I fear the worst though, since these two might nonchalantly start messing with the Hakurei Border.
Reimu would probably just beat the crap out of them or something. Afterwards, booze for all.
Standard procedure, really.

There's no space in the name.... That would be a pretty anticlimactic final battle.
...
The first time I saw the post, that is. I'm gonna show mercy and read it now!
... Okay, that was actually pretty cool. 'Fraid I don't have much more than that to contribute, though.
So I decided to contribute a little something to this topic.
I was listening to Mary, the Magician, and decided to do a short simple analysis of it. Anyway I won't claim to be an expert in music, because I'm not. I can only express the feelings and emotions the song gave me when listening to it.
An Analysis of Mary, the Magician
Mary, the Magician, in the beginning gives you a feeling of dark, mysteriousness. Like there's another part of Maribel that embodies these feelings, either because of her power or her theorized connection to Yukari. This feeling continues on in the song for awhile then it changes to a short, soft, and almost curious melody, possibly representing Maribel's outward personality. It's almost like Maribel is completely unaware of this other side to her. The song then changes back to the dark, mysterious feeling from before except as it goes on, it gets stronger and more forceful, as if the presence is trying to make itself more dominate in Maribel. And from the change back to the melodious tune at the end, you get the feeling that Maribel still manages to retain her dominance over the other presence yet is still completely unaware of it.
Simply put, I get the impression that Mary, the Magician represents a duality in Maribel, one that is unknown to the girl in question.
But anyway that's just my own interpretation. Someone else may get a different one.

Also, try comparing it to Yukari's theme.
There's no space in the name.Title, title!
I'm really starting to like her theme. I might have to do a remix-dump of some kind.
It has a title now.
I liked that. I'd be glad if you could honor us with a post like that more often!
Oh sure thing, I'll see if I can do another like that for the next character brought up for discussion.
Well, remember you can go back do write-ups for characters that have already been discussed.
I suppose we should move on. Who's next?
Well, we might as well clean up the Yakumos and take care of Chen
you'll then have a grave in the clouds where you won't lie too crampedMarisa's hat, I think.
I vote for Marisa's hat and say that it needs a name.
Where the hell did the name Pyonta come from? Or Johnny for Satori's eye?
Forever liveblogging the AvengersPretty sure Marisa's hat is not actually a character. I vote for either Chen or Marisa herself (with her hat as a possible aspect of her to discuss, if you like).
If we're not going to be silly and do Marisa's hat, I vote Chen. Or Tenshi
I vote Chen as well.
Y'all are breaking my heart.
And Clarste is a big tease.

Forever liveblogging the AvengersI was simply noting that the hat won second place last time.
It has huge fan appeal.

Yukari's win quotes in 12.3 make reference to the then-current 1:1 scale Gundam model. Touhou is supposed to be running roughly concurrently with Real Life
