Hatate calls Kisume a hermit crab, so that's how I see her relation to the bucket. Her soft, carapace-lacking abdomen needs the protective function of the bucket. Since she never stops growing she needs to routinely shed her bucket and find a larger one, a period of vulnerability.

I like that interpretation and I don't even know why.

Umbrella Korporation

Kisume sat at the top of the ledge waiting for someone. She would land right in front of them. Just as a joke, of course, she wouldn't dare hurt any one. After hours of waiting it looked like her waiting had payed off. She couldn't identify who it was though, they were holding an umbrella, so it was impossible to see.

Nevertheless, Kisume carried out her prank. Unfortunately, she overshot and landed on the person's umbrella, bouncing off and landing behind her target.

When Kisume got back up she saw who she landed on. A strange girl she had never seen before. She had blue hair, two differently colored eyes; one red and one blue, and was scrambling to pick up her umbrella. Slightly ashamed of her cruel prank, Kisume tried to hide from sight in her bucket, but she had already been spotted.

"You there, do you know what you did, you almost scared me to death. I almost died. You almost made me die!"

_{"S-sorry, I didn't mean to. Don't hurt me"}

"No! That was amazing! You have to teach me how to surprise people like that!"

_{"My mom told me not to talk to people like you"}

"I'm not leaving until you teach me!"

_{I think my friend is waiting for me... I should go.}

-Later, at Yamame's

"Hi, Kisume's who's your friend?"

"She's not my friend! She won't leave me alone! Make her go away!"

The stranger turned towards Yamame.

"Hey, that's not true at all. I just asked her to help me with something."

"Oh, well Kisume should know better than to turn down someone in need. Kisume, stop being rude and help this person out"

Later two Tengu came down from the mountain. And Kogasa never left Kisume alone again, up until the day she left for the cemetery.

Due to lack of inspiration for a Kisume based write up. I did a minific instead. Not to say that most of my write-ups aren't minifics, but this... is more of a script than a story.

I guess, since people ship Hina Parsee just because they share a DS stage, I wondered why Kisume, Yamame, and Kogasa aren't friends in fiction.

And so this is what I came up with. I just took (insert time it took to read this) of your life. Enjoy your day.

Basically, it is a reference to the joke that Kisume will keep growing.

And she will eventually destroy the universe.

I actually spent my lecture on rheology today scribbling awesome Kisume-related sketches. By which I mean the ideas behind the sketches are awesome and the sketches are sketches. Point is, awesome! Except now I go to bed.

Kisume's bucket is bigger on the inside.

Legend says Kisume can be summoned by rubbing her bucket. She will then grant you three wishes. Or she'll eat you.

Or she'll ask you politely to not touch her bucket.

And then she'll shoot you.

And then she'll eat you.

I am Bucket Midboss. I will eat you.

The idea that her bucket's bigger on the inside is interesting, though. Or maybe she's just smaller when inside.
