Ironically, the best game released by Square-Enix this year is an iOS game, Chaos Rings.

Seems... I dunno. It seems interesting, but this is the first time I've heard of an iPad.

That chick in the video seemed pretty pissed off though.

Perhaps it's just my preference for using buttons to control my characters, but it looks rather uncomfortable to play after a while.

I agree.

I can't see this staying iPad exclusive, however.

Well, given the state of this thread and the work pages when I came across them, I'm guessing that there's very few tropers who played these games?

If you're a fan of Eastern RPGs, especially if you liked the Wild ARMs series (which were made by the same developer), I'd recommend them. Chaos Rings II, especially, it's quite good. The mechanics are fun, the music is lovely, and the characters are easy to get attached to. Which is probably the point, since you have to kill almost all of them. A full length RPG with lots of after-game extras and a good story for only $18 is hard to beat.

I did play it some times ago. I played the first and Omega actually. I enjoyed them, but I didn't like the limited number of enemies, and the fact that Omega was pretty much a copy-paste of the fist game.

Yeah, Omega is pretty much an expansion pack to the first game - same levels, same enemies, same plot. Just a few new additions.

The first was also pretty repetitive, since you have to play through the same dungeons four different times to get the full story and the Golden Ending. But the story was worth working to get, IMO.
