Oh my god, yes, the intro.
Nil, a new sci-fi/horror story that you should read and review! (Updated 4/something) ''The gate opens. So far, I am extremely impressed. While a few minor changes were made to the novel, it is well in keeping with the intent of the author. The casting appears to be perfect so far. I love what they did with the Hound's Armor.
So yeah...me like.
Viserys stood out as being exceptionally well acted.
The Philosopher-King Paradox1) Blonde people are evil
2) The intro is awesome
3) Glad they made more LOTR
4) "The things I do for love"
Sex, Drugs, and RationalityDamn good. Impressed and most pleased.
"But don't give up hope. Everyone is cured sooner or later. In the end we shall shoot you." - O'Brien, 1984That was fantastic. I had pretty high expectations, but to see the beginnings of a truly faithful adaptation of possibly the greatest fantasy series ever...well, it was breathtaking. It was the exact opposite of what I felt while watching The Last Airbender.
I was damn impressed.
This post has been powered by avenging fury and a balanced diet.I adored it, Tyrion is my favourite Character thus far, he seems to get all the best lines, least favourite I don't know his name, the blond prince guy, I'm just waiting to see him die, he's so smug and ineffectual
those dragons eggs are going to hatch eventually is my guess
but yeah it was a good start
Humour, where would we be without it? In Germany, probablyIf it's the adult you're talking about, it's King's Guard Jamie Lannister who is "blond prince guy." Get used to seeing more of him. He starts off as Obviously Evil, but only gets more awesome as time goes by, though.
Unless you're talking about the blond kid with no lines, who is Prince Joffrey... who you also are going to be seeing a good bit more of...

"The secret we should never let the gamemasters know is that they don't need any rules." - E. Gary Gygaxno I knew who he was and he was cool(sortof) I meant the other Elfin looking prince, Viserys now I've looked him up
yes Joffrey creeped me out despite having not lines though

Humour, where would we be without it? In Germany, probablyAh, I think Viscerys and Dany are supposed to have the pure white hair of their crazy bloodline... suppose it looks blonde.
Yes, you're supposed to hate him. :)
"The secret we should never let the gamemasters know is that they don't need any rules." - E. Gary GygaxI think we'll have to be careful about spoilers. I'm sure they will change things, but some things not so much I hope.
They did change the prologue obviously, but not in a bad way.
Still, I recommend to read the book first.
I love a lot of the actors. Lena Headley, Sean Bean, that creepy priest from Being Human, random attractive British man from all those shows whom I'm pretty sure once played someone called Michael and was gay.
That's bugging me a lot. Imdb isn't helping, since he's probably not the same person and oh well.
This post has been powered by avenging fury and a balanced diet.Er, which one is he? The Being Human guy?
All the Ewoks will look up and shout, "Save us from the Klingons!" And I'll whisper, "Why so serious?"the old guy that delivered the message in there chambers, the main adviser to Ned, he played an evil priest on Being Human

Humour, where would we be without it? In Germany, probablyNot Maester Luwin! (Yeah, I'll just throw these names around because I can't help it.)
One thing's for sure, I did not expect to see all those boobs.
All the Ewoks will look up and shout, "Save us from the Klingons!" And I'll whisper, "Why so serious?"he sounds Welsh, actually most of the northerners that I've noticed have Welsh or Celtic style names
yes there were a few Breasts to be seen
As soon as I saw the kid climbing I knew what was going to happen to him

Humour, where would we be without it? In Germany, probablyGood, but not great.
Gets cheesy at times. The scene with the direwolves is a pretty significant example. When Jon and Robb find the wolves in the book, they're laughing with each other and happy, until Ned threatens to kill them. In this though, it's treated as this ominous situation, and everyone is walking around with "oh shit" looks on their faces. The other scene I had a big problem with was the introduction of the Dothraki. Seems too... silly. I thought so in the books as well. Regardless of how barbaric a civilisation is, the random killing of people at a wedding seems to be the kind of thing that would make people not want to go to weddings anymore. The third scene I had a big problem with was the Dany/Drogo love scene. In the books, it's a lot more loving and tender, and it's kind of a hope spot in the midst of all the carnage and death. It also makes Drogo at least slightly likeable. In the show, he's kind of a dick. And why, oh why, is Catelyn suddenly so anti-Ned going down to Kings Landing
Another thing I noticed: I Liked the Lannisters a LOT more than I did when I read the books. Mainly because I enjoyed seeing them liven up the story a bit, tell sarcastic jokes, instead of the Awkward Dignity and Quiet Happiness of the Starks. Also "The Things I Do for Love". Genuinely loved that part.

All the Ewoks will look up and shout, "Save us from the Klingons!" And I'll whisper, "Why so serious?"I liked the direwolf scene in the show :(
That was in the book too. Even the line about a Dothraki wedding with less than three deaths being considered dull was from the book.
Agreed on the Dany/Drogo sex scene.
And I'm pretty sure Catelyn was anti-Ned-going-to-Kings-Landing in the book too.
Nil, a new sci-fi/horror story that you should read and review! (Updated 4/something) ''The gate opens. No, she was pro-Ned going to King's Landing, which is apparently why not many like her.
All the Ewoks will look up and shout, "Save us from the Klingons!" And I'll whisper, "Why so serious?"Perhaps I missed it, but which one was Ned? Because Catelyn only truly seemed to have a problem with her husband leaving for there, at least until that message arrived(I'm assuming King's Landing is the capital where the King lives)... Stupid shows that have 20+ major characters in the pilot without killing any of them, and keeping me from figuring out who's who....
And, really... that whole paragraph up there should probably be put in spoiler text, or none of it at all... If you're going to assume that people have read the books (which I haven't, btw), don't bother putting anything in spoilers, since it should all be known quantities to begin with.

I found the Dothraki to be the most annoying thing so far, the whole barbarian thing was a bit boring
what he said

Holy fuck that was awesome. I totally recognized everything and I haven't read the books in years. I was a bit surprised about the Free Cities, I thought they would looks more slums like, but it still looked cool.
Also, that intro was so fucking cool.
Never trust anyone who uses "degenerate" as an insult.
