My dad's yard sound like a warzone (redux)

(Sorry for the triple post, I appear to have suffered a catastrophic loss of internet the moment I hit the send button)

I visited my dad's house for Thanksgiving and his neighbor appears to have taken a liking to firing his gun all day long. Dad lives in the woods in one of the most rural parts of Alabama, so gunfire isn't exactly uncommon, and hunters are in the woods all the time, but this guy is taking it to a whole other level of Dumbass. He times the shots randomly enough so that by the time you forget about the shot before, the new one scares the ever-loving crap out of you. Its been going on long enough that my dad, a pretty peaceful, live and let live kinda guy, had a look in his eye that said he was about to take matters into his own hands.

I'm really not sure what he can do about it. I suggested getting the other neighbors to call the cops along with him, as more people complaining seems more likely to get shit done. Any advice, legal or otherwise, on how to end this jackassery?

Depends. You say rural — are you sure he wasn't hunting? It was deer season, turkey season, and dove season may also have been open over the Thanksgiving weekend. If he was hunting, you're SOL.

That sounds like harrasement to me. Go and ask the neighbour to stop politely, and if he doesn't start keeping a log of what has happened before reporting it to the police. After that if that gets nothing done I would advise contacting a soliciter or getting the neighbour done for noise pollution.

Buy an artillery gun and show him that you can be a bigger dick.
