Samson was recast way back when they needed the Original 8 to do new lines for the DLC crew.
The guy who is voicing Samson for the story mode is the one who did the additional lines for Samson there.

Decided to check the beta. Nice, everyone has taunts now. Oh hey, Robo-Fortune's pretty much done. Let's test her out. Going through her moveset when... oh god. Oh god. Those maniacs... They gave her Doom Missiles...!
Also what is the point of having a taunt that does damage if you can't kill with it?

The point was that they didn't do anything at all, at first; L0 didn't want to mess with the balancing of ALL the old characters just because of taunts this late in the game where they don't have enough time to fix it all. But, because of fan bitching input, they gave the new taunts except for Squigly's effects that are either cosmetic or are so insignificant that it's near impossible to have balance issues with.

But cherry tapping with taunts is a long and storied tradition. It wouldn't mess with balance at all.

Yep.
Actually pulling it off needs Squiggly's taunt, both charges from her two charging modes, and full meter, and you can presently only get three of those in the live game.
Which is kinda fitting since the move is a massive taunt in and of itself more or less.
So who are considered the strongest anchor characters right now? I know Fukua can work anywhere and Double thrives on the leftover meter but who else does that role well?
Bella is a good anchor thanks to her being relatively easy to play combined with Diamonds Are Forever being ridiculously good and Diamond Dynamo being a good mashy reversal super. Other than that I think Filia is pretty good if you can play her well and maybe Eliza if you're willing to burn it all on Sekhmet.
