From what I understand, IW is a decent FPS, but it lacks the depth of its predecessor and Human Revolution. I hear that it runs poorly on modern rigs as well.

By all accounts, The Fall is a Porting Disaster. IIRC, the controls are terrible and can't be reassigned.

They're both terrible. Get the director's cut and sleeping dogs while they're at 80% tho.

Given that Invisible War was the game that introduced me to the Deus Ex series, it was actually pretty damned fun back when I played it. It's definitely nowhere near as in-depth as Human Revolution or the original though; while they certainly do have multiple approaches to many of the missions, a variety of gameplay styles and the hub cities, the gameplay definitely favors those who leveled up their guns, speed and health. Stealth isn't very viable for a variety of reasons, especially near the end where almost all of your enemies have a means of stealth detection. That, and the ending(s) is probably gonna give Mass Effect fans nasty flashbacks for a couple of reasons.

Invisible War isn't that bad.

The Fall is worse than I implied though.

I liked/tolerated Invisible War the first time around, but I've tried to replay it maybe a dozen times and I've never gotten past the first level beyond the introductory area. There's just a terminal blandness and clunkiness to it that's much worse than any design flaws and definitely overshadows the good bits.

For just a few bucks, you might as well get it though, even if it's just to see what the fuss is about.

IW was ok, more shooter than than the Original DX. It worked best on X Box, which it was CLEARLY designed for, as each level is tiny. That really makes it hard for me to play, because I end up just running into loading screen after loading screen.

Also, the plot feels... small, despite having mega corps and so on. Again, this is partly the levels and partly the very linear nature of the game. There are no real "outdoors" areas.

How they reconciled the endings of DX was interesting though. And again, it wasn't 3 button pushes (Which is where they do better than DX: HR) And the endings were... well, they make sense given the Universe and the characters you meet. it really does build on the former, but it lacked "scope" and the universal ammo and inventory is what makes it feel too streamlined.

How many Blu-Rays would it take for Deus Ex 1 to be modelled in the (I think gorgeous) engine that Human Revolution used?

Because I would play that. Assuming better voice acting and so on was a part of the deal.

me too. I want a remastered version of Deus Ex 1 in Human Revolution's engine.

There is nothing wrong with:

"Oh my god JC, A bomb!"

"A bomb?!"

Nor the Australian bloke discussing philosophy in Hong Kong.

But a HD remake would be amazing.

If they make an HD remaster, they cannot change the voice acting. It's one of the things that made the game so iconic.

I feel like I should hate Invisible War, but I have to appreciate it for being the only Deus Ex where you can play a female character (it's even the default.)

I jump in every now and then. Playing the game as a violent sociopath is proving difficult but fun. It's all about Clustering dudes. Get five of em to investigate a hallway then toss a 'nade in their faces. Energy bars and the double kill aug also benefit from this strategy.

It's real.

Set in 2029, two years after the events of Human Revolution, Adam Jensen returns and joins forces with an Interpol-funded task force aiming to hunt down and capture augmented terrorists in a world that now hates and fears transhumans. Jensen has a new suite of augmentations that allow him to cleverly navigate stealth, combat, and social interactions, but how Jensen chooses to solve every problem is entirely up to you.

So, is this going to pick a canon (obviously not the murder everyone ending) ending? Sounds like the Darrow one might be canonsad, though it could just be that the anti-aug movement is gaining steam regardless of which choice Jensen made.

I'm hoping that the "Kill everyone" ending is canon, just so we can get a scene where someone calls Adam out for killing hundreds of people just to kill three guys who weren't very important to the scheme of things.

Also, here's to more of Adam making normal things sound hilarious with his silly gruff voice. Fun fact: that's his VA's natural speaking voice.

Sqaure-Enix listened to my suggestions for that survey!

I take full credit for this. Unless it sucks, in which case it's all Square-Enix's fault. I wonder if they listened to my suggestion to make a Sleeping Dogs sequel too.

I'm a bit disappointed it's Jensen again though. I wanted it to star Anna Kelso, or someone new after Invisible War.

Never trust anyone who uses "degenerate" as an insult.
