Ok so I got my races, my nations, and the reason for the conflict.

Ok maybe I haven't reveal the cause for the conflict yet.

Tianati, Telstaat, Hr-Aojitar, and Nchikuwa are the superpower nations on the planet, Elloqua. Although there are many other nations, each of the four has a significant mastery of arms, magic, and strategy above the rest of the world.

In recent events, they have discovered long lost artifacts that contain powers far beyond the capability of any mortal. Powers that can bring eternal peace to the world, in two very different ways.

This race to unearth, unlock, and control these artifacts has lead to territorial disputes that resulted in a various terrorist attacks on the superpowers and the death of the leaders of two of the nations.

Unable to reconcile their conflicts, all four nations declared war on each other.

Now how kick things off.

Going with Cygan Angel on this. Do you have characters and a specific period in time to follow?

Well, maybe it kinda shifts between those on the frontlines and the leaders of these nations.

Also, the setting has a modernish level of tech, but as for period near the beginning of the war.

If you want some idea on how to start off the first few scenes, I started my story by showing the heroine filling out some job applications in her room (accidentally punching a hole through one of them) and her friend calls her up, inviting her to the lab. Sure it had very little to do with the main story but it was a start.

One rule of thumb is to begin your story with the widest canvas you will use during the story. If the story begins and ends in a closet, you don't need to show any more than the closet. If the story is about global domination, your canvas is an entire planet. You can then zoom in on one country, one city, one character.

Under World. It rocks!

Specific characters work wonders.

You can start off showing a day in the life of them. Or you could start off by them being thrown into action. Or... something. Character-driven scenes are a good way to draw in readers.
