YEAH FOR STUPID SARCASM!
Let's keep opinons to ourselves.
Sarcasm? On my internet? It's more likely than you'd think.
Popes for the Pope's throne!Overrated: Halo. How in the flying fuck did this piece of shit become the number one FPS on the fucking planet?
Underrated: Crimson Skies. In my personal opinion, High Road To Revenge is the best aerial combat game ever created in the history of the fucking universe. Suck it, Ace Combat fanboys!

I am a proud member of the Western Federation's Anti-Japan Media Task Force. My work is very important. If we did that, nobody would be posting in this topic.
I refuse to respond to Overrated, as anything is overrated if you ask the right person.
Underrated? Jagged Alliance.
Don't take life too seriously. It's only a temporary situation.Yeah, Il-2 is more fun for me, but crimson skies was awesome. Very immersive and fun, and the arcade version where you sit in this big ball thing was badass.
Underrated: All-pro Football 2k8. Really great customisation has had me hooked for a long time, even though hardly anyone plays it.
Popes for the Pope's throne!Besides, we've had like a bloodyillionty topics on the subject already.
"Proto-Indo-European makes the damnedest words related. It's great. It's the Kevin Bacon of etymology." ~Madrugada^^^^^Because it isn't a piece of shit?
Overrated: Call of Duty. Because "How in the flying fuck did this piece of shit become the number one FPS on the planet?" fits this series more.
Underrated: Unreal Tournament 3. Not as feature-filled as the previous ones, but still fun, and it looks nice.
I don't have too much to say.^ Oh goody, that guy again...
I honestly hope someone bans the shit out of both of us so I don't have to deal with you.
I am a proud member of the Western Federation's Anti-Japan Media Task Force. My work is very important. And so it begins...
I don't have too much to say.^ Which is why we shouldn't talk about overrated things.
Call of Duty is an amazingly immersive experience, providing an adrenaline rush and feeling realistic without being realistic.
Halo has great variety and choice of styles, with quite a good story and also a great art design.
But mostly, it depends on the person. Thinking either one is a POS is IMO fan dumb.
Popes for the Pope's throne!^^ Honestly, this will end up a back and forth that will get nowhere.
That's why I want both of us banned. At least you won't be able to spew Flame Bait.
Then again, maybe it would be better to just lock any and every thread at the mention of Halo. How's that sound?
^ Okay, so Halo isn't a POS, but it still bores the shit out of me. What do you call that?

I am a proud member of the Western Federation's Anti-Japan Media Task Force. My work is very important.Y'know, not everyone is as pissy about Halo as you, rallyfan.
Don't make me involve the mods in this.
An opinion, which is perfectly fine to have. Just don't be inflammatory about it.
Last post in thread. Do not want to get caught in flame war.
Popes for the Pope's throne!^^^ Alright alright, I'll tone down the rhetoric. Still, Halo bores me to no end. I just don't get any connection, no real sense of "I have a reason to do this, and therefore I will, no matter how painful it becomes." Call Of Duty on the other hand, I get in there, I see my enemy before me, and I know what must be done and why. I do it without hesitation or fear. And I feel why I must do it. Halo lacks that impact for me.
I am a proud member of the Western Federation's Anti-Japan Media Task Force. My work is very important.Stop, let's keep it to oursleves! Wonder why this thread got more responses than the other ones, but isn't the Golden Code:
Your Mileage May Vary.
^ To be honest, I thought you were a troll, but that was most likely caused by me loving DMC and being on gamefaqs for far, far too long. :P
But on point, amen to that, brother! Another underrated game:
Endwar. Loved the voice commands, and I thought the tactics were suprisingly deep for the amount of units. Don't play it anymore due to not having xbox live, but used to love it. EU rules all!
Popes for the Pope's throne!Overrated: Ace Combat. I prefer to have to get in close with a machine gun than lay back with missiles, thank you.
Underrated: Blazing Angels. Now THIS is more like it!
I am a proud member of the Western Federation's Anti-Japan Media Task Force. My work is very important.Underrated: Wario Land. II and 3 were some of the best platformers I've ever played.
Very Slightly Overrated: Sam And Max Beyond Time and Space. A great game, but hardly the improvement over Season One everyone says it is. My main problem was how it was Darker and Edgier. Still funny, but left me uncomfortable a lot of times, especially in the last two episodes.
Weird in a Can (updated M-F)Why is overrated commonly used in the "popular games I hate" fashion? Personally, if something is overrated for me, then it's still good, just not as good as everyone says.
Troper page Nothing interesting here, move along...I can't think of anything for underrated, so I'll just go on to Underrated:
Terranigma: Really, really fun. The fighting system was nice, it was pretty long, the story was good, the graphics were great for the time it was in, but it isn't well known enough!
ᐅᖃᐅᓯᖅ ᐊᑕᐅᓯᖅ ᓈᒻᒪᔪᐃᑦᑐᖅOVERRATED: Pretty much the entire Legend of Zelda series, with the exception of Ocarina of Time which is genuinely a good game.
But particularly A Link to the Past. Just about every Action-RPG on the SNES or Sega Genesis was better in every way (seriously, Landstalker kicks Zelda's ass!) but somehow ALTTP becomes the classic while the rest are relegated to cult status.
Probably for the better though. I'd hate for Soulblazer to be dragged through the mud.
UNDERRATED: Crusader of Centy, a unique action-RPG for the Sega Genesis that had an unusual plot which actually deconstructed the foundations of the Action-RPG genre, namely it questions the morality of running around randomly killing monsters. For some reason though, all the reviews for it could only concentrate on calling it a "shameless rip-off of Zelda" ("it should be called 'Legend of Melda'" used to be a popular quote) even though this game actually has less in common with Zelda than, say, Landstalker does. It just goes to show you how, 99% of the time, reviewers are ruled by petty biases and are full of bullshit.
