Look no further than this. It has an awesome Myth Arc, complex, scholarly yet occasionally snarky language, and deep analyses of the would-be team of (anti?) hero.
Support Taleworlds!I said show fer a reason, Argeus. I also want something Aesthethically pleasing. With cameras, before all the philosophers in the world jump me.

It's not exactly naive. And it can happen. But it's tough. And definetly worthwhile.I want something in similar vein to Freeway. One of those "dat is some hilarious fucked up shit" kind of works. Though not necessary, Rule of Cool would also be nice. Any suggestions?
ALL CREATURE WILL DIE AND ALL THE THINGS WILL BE BROKEN. THAT'S THE LAW OF SAMURAI.Rule of Cool is probably debatable, but I'm pretty sure it is not possible to outdo Drakengard in the 'hilariously messed-up' category.
The Revolution Will Not Be TropeableLooking for things on the idealist side of the sliding scale, that have cool stories, are pg13 rated or less, and preferably possible for me to get for free (i.e. webcomics, freeware, web originals, etc.)
Any help?
Go play Kentucky Route Zero. Now.I should get to that. I've been linked to The Dark Id's lets play several times, but I think I should play it myself.
um... I can't think of anything. all I can think of on the nearly cheery side is Cave Story.
What's a good "character study" work you guys can recommend to me?
ALL CREATURE WILL DIE AND ALL THE THINGS WILL BE BROKEN. THAT'S THE LAW OF SAMURAI.Character study, huh? Scorsese's work is almost all based aroun this stuff. Goodfellas, the Aviator, Taxi Driver, etc etc.
"My life is my own" | If you want to contact me privately, please ask first on the forum.Mean Streets was one of my favorites.
ALL CREATURE WILL DIE AND ALL THE THINGS WILL BE BROKEN. THAT'S THE LAW OF SAMURAI.I am looking for something which favours these kinds of tropes:
- Kudzu Plot
- Ensemble Cast
- Guile Hero
- Science Hero
- Cloudcuckoolander
- Psycho Supporter
- Madness Tropes
- Loads And Loads Of Characters
- Morality Kitchen Sink
- Vast Conspiracy
- Thirty Xanatos Pile Up
- Earn Your Happy Ending
- Shown Their Work
And has minimal (not necessarily zero) fantastic or speculative-fiction elements.
The Revolution Will Not Be TropeableLost, Lost, Lost, Lost, Lost, Lost, Lost, Lost, Lost, Lost, Lost, Lost, Lost, Lost, Lost, Lost, Lost, Lost, Lost, Lost, Lost, Lost, Lost, Lost, Lost, Lost, Lost, Lost, Lost, Lost, Lost, Lost, Lost, Lost, Lost
Or Angel, but I don't see you watching that anytime soon.

"My life is my own" | If you want to contact me privately, please ask first on the forum.Lost is already close to the top of my list, Juan. :) Anything else?
I'm pretty sure Angel fails the "minimal fantastic elements" request. :P

The Revolution Will Not Be TropeableI know, I know, it still fits the whole rest of things in there.
And, well, it is already close. Now you have an excuse to put it at the top. ^_^
"My life is my own" | If you want to contact me privately, please ask first on the forum. The only reason it's not already at the top is that it's more difficult for me to arrange to watch things than it is to read them, and I have a queue to finish.
The last part is kind of the most important, though... I'm swearing off Eldritch Abominations and Our Monsters Are Weird for a while. :/

The Revolution Will Not Be TropeableWelp, that takes Lost out as well...
Hmmmm, lemme see in my backlog of stuff...how about Planetary?
"My life is my own" | If you want to contact me privately, please ask first on the forum....no, that doesn't take out Lost, Lost is not nearly as spec-fic-y as Angel merely by virtue of not being Monster of the Week.
The Revolution Will Not Be Tropeable...Smoke Monster is Smoke Monster who Smoke Monsters people with his Smoke Monster-ness while Smoke Monstering.
Yo dawg
Also, only Angel's first and fifth season qualify as "Monster of the Week", to be perfectly honest.
"My life is my own" | If you want to contact me privately, please ask first on the forum.-_- Same monster every week does not 'Monster of the Week' make... We're contrasting Monster of the Week with, say, Four Lines, All Waiting, not I-don't-know Our Monsters Are All Conventional.
Something without the anything-goes setting/antagonist flexibility that Doctor Who has. Let me try putting it that way.
The Revolution Will Not Be TropeableIt's not just the Smoke Monster, I'm just not spoiling anything, silly.
"My life is my own" | If you want to contact me privately, please ask first on the forum.Well, fine. That leaves me with no recommendations, then.
The Revolution Will Not Be TropeableHmmm, OK, how about Sleeper?
The comic. Didn't know we had 4 works called Sleeper.

The Revolution Will Not Be TropeableThread has been moved to Media, in its very own category.
Goal: Clear, Concise and WittySo...this was moved, huh?
OK, then. (For some reason, it appeared on my watchlist even though I'd already read the latest reply)
^Damn it, ninja Eddie.

I'd say Brick
I want a show with a good Myth Arc, a mischievous, snarky sense of humor and with at least one Avengers Assemble storyline.
It's not exactly naive. And it can happen. But it's tough. And definetly worthwhile.
