Out of curiosity, why is it that it seems, within the past few months, that a lot of political posts are getting nominated as being made of win? Particularly things that really all that win-y other than "a political stance I agree with said in a witty way or by someone famous".

Yes, I'm aware that it's an election year. That doesn't necessarily make it a good idea to use this forum to continue the political arguments from elsewhere... which I'd object to even if I agreed with them (by and large, I don't, but that's neither here nor there).

This thread is for listing posts that you personally think are made of win. Whether you agree with someone else's choices or not is not what it's for. Nor is it for analysing why someone listed a particular post.

Besides, Joss Whedon's ad was extra funny. Definitely worth a even if he's not a Troper. (His relation to our site is remarkable, though.)

I don't even remember anymore, and I can't find it. Maybe it was in Troper Tales or something. I remember reading a summary of a discussion that went "You guys are doing a pretty good job here. — Joss. (five pages of omigodthatwasjosswhedon!)"

I recall that people pretty quickly started asking if it was the real Joss, and somebody traced his IP address to a plausible area for him to be posting from.
