Damn, just came back from a torunament where I had the worst of luck. The first game I won with nearly a massacre, and I lsot the second, partly due to a bad matchup and mission (spearhead and killpoints), partly due to making some bad moves, but in the last game I failed completely because the laws of probability decided to go fuck themselves. First half of the game went well, and I managed to inflict quite heavy losses to the enemy, but then my dice just stopped working. I shot at 3 marines on an objective with four venoms and warriors, and din't kill a single one. I kept rollings 1s to penetrate with my lances, and failed every single cover and flickerfield save.

The tournament continues tomorrow and I need some way to turn my luck around. I think I'm going to have to sacrifice some dice to the Dice gods, to give my other ones an example of what happens when they fail me and to annoing the rets of my dice with their powdered remains.

What are your guy's list for those of you who play Orks? I'm going to start an army and I'm wondering which figs I should get.
If anyone in the thread wants to kidnap me, I don't mind. We'd just be in their van drinking Mountain Dew and watching MLP for days on end

You are probably going to want a kustom force field.

Mine are usually centered about a warboss with a nob escort (not yet tuned for rules allocation abuse) in a trukk, and a battlewagon with boyz and a klaw nob.

For higher point games, add in a few lootas, more boyz with klaw nobz... I also still have my koptaz and a bunch of bikers and kans.

On the Vengeance launcher, there no real reason why game workshop couldn't make it a Canon Immigrant and included it in the next update for the war game. They did it for the Tau Rail Rifle after all.

I feel that the Vengeance Launcher is already adequately represented on the tabletop by auxiliary grenade launchers. We don't get the delayed explosion thing, but I feel that'd be pretty clunky to implement anyway.

I may be biased because I'm already planning to model my Honour Guards' aux. launchers as Graia-pattern Vengeance Launchers with built-in boltguns.

Your army sucks.
[up][up]That's because the only new codex that came out between Space Marine and now is Necrons. They just might in the next Space Marine codex update.
Sorry, I can't hear you from my FLYING METAL BOX!

From my experiences, Ork armies should be assault focused with a bit of artillery thrown in for good measure. One of the guys I sometimes play with uses, for whatever reason, a shooty blob army. Even generalist armies tear him to pieces and that's not going into what happens when he fights the guys who play Guard and Tau...

I want Kat's glasses!
[up]The only good shooty units Orkz have are lootas and big gunz.

Burna boyz hurt well when they shoot too, but with their range I wouldn't count them as shooting units.

All I know about orks is that they're not fun to get assaulted by.

[up][up] Flash gitz aren't too bad, although due to their durability they're ferociously pricey compared to Lootas.

On the other hand, they give you an excuse to take the kombi-shootas from the Nobz kit and make them awesome.
Chuubsessive
I've never had flash gitz fielded against me. Such a pity, I do like facing new things.

Burna boyz though... They're harsh.

Hi all.

I bought a bunch of Space Marine units from a buddy for 20 bucks and I've been going through it to see if its worth it to go back into Table Top gaming.

I've got, believe it or not:

  • HQ
    • Captain Cortez (Crimson Fists)
    • Interrigator Chaplain (Dark Angels)
    • Regular Librarian

  • Elites
    • Terminator Squad
    • Dreadnought (With extra weapon arms)

  • Troops
    • 2 Tac Squads
    • 1 Scout Squad (all except the Sarge with Sniper Rifles)

  • Fast Attack
    • At least 1 Assault Squad (Possibly two)
    • 1 Bike Squadron

  • Heavy Support
    • Predator Annihilator (Need to fix side sponsons)

  • Transport
    • 1 Rhino.

Congratulations :D

Suffer not the witch to live.
Nicely done, and it looks like you could put together a nice all-rounder list there too.

Blood Ravens has a serious Zero-Context Example problem.

[up]I cut it down to the tropes that pertain to the Blood Ravens, and I cut the tropes that I couldn't find examples for.

Wow, the Grinder is really a rip-off, down to those coil thingies on the sides.

Not to mention the Baneblade-derived one, which despite being different is much more obvious because the Baneblade is much more well-known.

Of course, like said in the article, the higher-ups probably didn't know. One of the employees was probably lazy and his presumably being chewed out.

With all the shit EA has pulled lately, I wouldn't mind GW deciding they need another lawsuit for infringement.

Acording to Wikipedia it's still in Beta and free to play, so they'll probably settle out of court and sweep the whole affair under the rug.
