I am male, 18, in Australia and I go by Rat King sometimes online. It is from a children's book by Terry Pratchett, which is one of my favourite books. I am going to start university next year but have finished highschool. I do not know what to study, because while I want to be a writer, I also want to be a physicist. Or maybe go into politics. Or Programming. Or Graphic Design. Or Ancient History. Or Cryptology.

It is annoying having to choose, and maybe that tells you enough about me.

But... they look nothing alike! I know that the Jewish monster trio were the inspiration for Kyogre/Groudon/Rayquaza, but I just can't see that last one. Actually, it's kinda hard to think of Groudon like that when I think about it.

I am female, 31, and a software engineer residing in Montana. I make pixel-based old school RP Gs for a hobby, and I'm hoping to turn it into a profession with my current project. The nick is pronounced "so-ah"; it is not an acronym or misspelling of cocoa. It's from Peruvian mythology and has been my handle for longer than there's been a world wide web.

Surely not, for the verity of your golden calf god must be known! These poor lambs must be led from their idol of false worship, and into the Light of Truth!

I'm tempted to rename to Behemoth just to set someone else up to come on as Leviathan.

Also, I always imagine Leviathan as a giant sea serpent, despite it having a variety of descriptions. Thank you, Final Fantasy, for allowing a single iteration of a legendary creature to become so thoroughly ingrained in my psyche! Thanks a whole bunch.

Here's the original description:

Unknown Troper wrote:

" I will not keep silence concerning its limbs, or its might strength, or its great frame. Who can strip off its outer garment? Who can penetrate its double coat of mail*? Who can open the doors of its face? There is terror all around its teeth. Its back** is made of shields in rows, shut up closely as with a seal. One is so near to another that no air can come between them. They are joined one to another; they clasp each other and cannot be separated. Its sneezes flash forth light, and its eyes are like the eyelids of the dawn. From its mouth go flaming torches; sparks of fire leap out. Out of its nostrils comes smoke, as from a boiling pot and burning rushes. Its breath kindles coal, and a flame comes out of its mouth. In its neck abides strength, and terror dances before it. The folds of its flesh cling together; it is firmly cast and immovable. Its heart is as hard as stone, as hard as the lower millstone. When it raises itself up the gods are afraid; at the crashing they are beside themselves. Though the sword reaches it, it does not avail, nor does he spear, the dart, or the javelin. It counts iron as straw, and bronze as rotten wood. The arrow cannot make it flee; slingstones, for it, are turned to chaff. Clubs are counted as chaff; it laughs at the rattle of javelins. Its underparts are like sharp potsherds; it spreads itself like a threshing-sledge on the mire. It makes the deep boil like a pot; it makes the sea like a pot of ointment. It leaves a shining wake behind it; one would think the deep to be white-haired. On Earth it has no equal, a creature without fear. It surveys all that is lofty; it is king over all that are proud.
- Job 41:12 - 34, NRSV

...wow, I've heard that it was a whale, but a friggin' crocodile?

Off course, the real Leviathan is a massive tentacled pyramid that spans across the ocean bottoms of the globe.

the statement above is false

Leviathan was the world's largest fish stick. I Am Not Making This Up. Hebrew legend says God made two Leviathan, then killed the female, salted it, and gave it to the people as a snack.

Momo was the only pixel art of mine I could find on short notice that fit the avatar requirements. I'll probably pixel something more original at some point to replace it.

There's a passage in the Psalms that mentions that God created the Leviathan to play in the ocean; I'm pretty sure that's the bit that leads people to say it's a whale. I'll find the reference when I get home.

EDIT: Here they are (all from the English Standard Version):

{{Psalm 74:12-14}} wrote:

"Yet God my King is from of old, working salvation in the midst of the earth. You divided the sea by your might; you broke the heads of the sea monsters on the waters. You crushed the heads of Leviathan; you gave him as food for the creatures of the wilderness.

{{Psalm 104:24-26}} wrote:

"O Lord, how manifold are your works! In wisdom have you made them all; the earth is full of your creatures. Here is the sea, great and wide, which teems with creatures innumerable, living things both small and great. There go the ships, and Leviathan, which you formed to play in it.

{{Isaiah 27:1}} wrote:

"In that day the Lord with his hard and great and strong sword will punish Leviathan the fleeing serpent, Leviathan the twisting serpent, and he will slay the dragon that is in the sea.

I didn't write any of that.

Yup, Leviathan really does sound like a salt-water crocodile going by what's been posted. Either that or an actually dragon (who lives in the ocean).

Hey everyone, my name's John Roberts, I'm 18 years old and living in England having just finished college. Literally, just; I finished less than two weeks ago. I've just made a contributor page for myself, and am learning wiki-fu and basic HTML as a result of TV Tropes. The real reason I'm speaking here is to thank all of you for creating something fantastic here. Seriously, this is a great site! So cheers from me and all other [ww=Unknown Troper]Unkown Tropers[/ww] out there

Also: A giant fish-stick? Why couldn't you do anything like that in Black and White?

Any thoughts on what you'll be taking?

Also I prefer Makavians for sneaking. The Nosferatu seem more about melee action, and that just isn't my thing.

Hello! My name is for legal purposes is Heath Trennoby and I am going to be 19 in a week or so. I'm a Wisconsinite who after high school is traveling the USA to discover myself, though admittedly that's not working out so great. But nonetheless, I decided that if I like it here so much, why not join the forums? Am I right or am I right? This should be fun!

It should be fun indeed, provided that you abide by our strict rules and regulations. I'd start with "Forum Procedures and Protocols, Volumes I-XII" (Volumes XIII-XX are mostly for class 6 and above posting). Then look at "Wiki Policies and You: A Short Primer", especially pages 1211-1399. You might want to memorize chapter 43, section 4a. Remember, to be a full troper, you need to pass the Initiation Test with a 95% score. To edit pages, you need Echelon "D" or higher privileges, which is automatically granted by passing the Initiation Test. To get your YKTTW license, you need to pass a writing test, become a "G" Echelon troper, and pass a blood test. It's All There in the Manual: "TV Tropes Testing and Licensing Rulebook, 5th edition".

So, yes it will be "fun", as required by UWCL (Unified Wiki Codes and Laws) 440.140 c.45 ยง1 ("Minimum Fun Level").

And by now you should know I'm pulling your leg.

Hi there! Name's mishro. I'm an 18 year old male in missouri. I joined because I often find myself looking thru the main site and noticed there was a forum so I figured "why not?". I'm not sure how active I'll be though. I enjoy video games (mostly nintendo. I am a fanboy afterall.) I also enjoy alot of different anime.

I also make a comic. it's at (linky) The characters are based on myself and some forum members from another forum I go to.

EDIT! Before I forget, the first comic is on the last page and stuff.

Hey, fellow Tropers!

I'm Kirby Head (female). I just recently turned 18, and I'm spending this summer before college staring at this computer screen and getting epic lulz from each trope I read. I'm really more of a lurker, though I have edited some tropes on occasion. I don't think I'm funny enough to come up with my own wittily-titled trope, though. I do get the urge to fix grammatical errors, though. I'm attending university in the fall for electrical engineering, though I would probably do a lot better in English, which is my best subject. Too bad English doesn't make any money. Like many tropers, I'm a writer, and I'm also an artist as well. One of these days I'll get around to a comic or graphic novel or OEL or whatever they're calling 'em nowadays. Yeah. One of these days.

I'm a big anime/manga/video games person, so those are often the tropes I frequent. I do watch American TV and movies as well, though. Sometimes I feel like I'm stuck in the Animation Age Ghetto because I'm 18 and all I watch is Cartoon network and Nickelodeon (and, well, okay, Disney, too). Tropes have become part of my daily life, so much to the point where I'll reference them by name in casual conversation, then realize that nobody knows what the heck I'm talking about. My sister also frequents TV Tropes.org, though, so we watch television together and call 'em as we see 'em, so to speak. I'm a member at Gaming W, an amatuer gaming site, if anybody else goes there. I've been active there since 2003, and I hope to be sticking around with TV Tropes as well.

Also, I love Kirby. And I own a gigantic stuffed Pikachu that comes to bed with me every night...
