Of course Lelouch Geass always did have the possibility of that since he wasn't into enslaving people for the rest of their lives, unlike others who did including one of his distant sisters.
Every accusation by the GOP is ALWAYS a confession.Teaser video for the 3rd recap movie:
Commercial:
Sweet Christmas, does anyone else think Lelouch looks like a mule kicked him smack dab in the crotch at the 0:13 timemark of the first video (and the 0:24 timemark in the second video)?
Haven't kept up with anything Geass, but it also looks like Nunally (and/or C.C.) might be some kind of Apocalypse Maiden...
...are these films redone from the ground up, or is this just footage re-edited into a feature-length film?
I'M MR. MEESEEKS, LOOK AT ME!I think I recall reading that it's a little of both?
Though with what's going on thus far, it looks like it's leaning towards the former...

Well on one hand I suppose it says a lot that some of these animes out there are so well-crafted, all it would take is a little editing to make them suitable for hte big screen. Death Note and One Piece stitched together parts of their respective animes and re-released them as films, and it works.
On the other hand the only shot in that trailer that looked new was Lelouch walking in front of those purple flames. And I don't know if I would drive to the theater to rewatch Seasons 1 and 2.

I'M MR. MEESEEKS, LOOK AT ME!Looking at the trailers above:
Lloyd looking somber or worried at night is new. Diethard getting punched is new. Everything with Shirley is new.
The second movie had a lot of new content despite the trailers showing almost none of it, and more than what was in the first movie, so the third might well have a good chunk of additions too.
The third movie might have a different ending also which could be the explanation for Lelouch being back in the new series.
"When I offered to make Norea my third back-up girlfriend she just glared at me and started throwing things at me.." Renee CostaI imagine they'll include a big nod towards that, but probably an expansion rather than a significant modification. It was already not so ambiguously hinted.

It wasn't hinted originally. It was just loads of fans didn't want to imagine Lelouche was dead. Him being alive is a retcon.
"And when the last law was down and the Devil turned round on you, where would you hide, the laws all being flat?"Well there was that shot that was cut out of the C.C.'s wagon ending cause it really implies Lelouche survived.

"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."Or something Geass related brought him back, and while not common in their history these days geasses able to influence the world and give people non-mental related powers do exist.
Suzaku's superhuman abilities were originally planned to be revealed to be Geass related till they scrapped it for R2 and his ancestor had a geass empowered arm that sucked the life out of people to sustain his own.

Every accusation by the GOP is ALWAYS a confession.@ slimcoder: No shot was cut. That's a fan edit.
@ Sigilbreaker 26: We could argue about that, but at this point I feel it's unnecessary.

I feel he was dead, but there are plenty of ways foe him to come back. Especially if God or the Administrator have a use for him.
Every accusation by the GOP is ALWAYS a confession.Wasn't the original ending meant to be up to viewer interpretation as to whether Lelouch died or not? Season three being called Lelouch of the Resurrection is vague though as it could either be a meta title about the show coming back or it could be implying that the creators have decided that Lelouch definitely did die and is coming back. We'll have to wait and see. For now both those saying he died and those saying he didn't are right.

This is a bit of an odd question to ask but, does Oz the Reflection have any Ensemble Dark Horses amongst the cast? I'm curious.
The storm has now resided, the wolf now rests.I can't tell if the animation is new or not. It looks exactly the same. I guess that's a good thing, in a way.
Third movie is out in Japan btw.
Mileena MadnessShould have been released on November 11th.
I'M MR. MEESEEKS, LOOK AT ME!The big takeaway from possible 4chan spoilers is Shirley lives.
Mileena MadnessSo nothing of value was gained.
Every accusation by the GOP is ALWAYS a confession.Mainly I'm bummed that they reduced Kallen's screentime and importance.

It seems there's actually a fair amount of changes, but most of them are relatively small in size so they may not make an obvious difference in strict isolation. We would need to look at the big picture of the film(s) to judge them.
What does seem to be pretty big is that the epilogue has new content (and not necessarily what you/we are/were expecting, supposedly)...plus there's been a moderate modification of the betrayal sequence of R2 in particular, which sounds like it should address a few of the complaints we all discussed here back in the day.
More generally, it has been announced that the long expected Code Geass sequel will follow the movies, not the TV series. The series isn't being invalidated, according to the staff, but the sequel apparently isn't flowing from there. So they exist in parallel.

I figured that would be the case and while that spoiler difference may seem small it should change how a few events afterwards play out.
"When I offered to make Norea my third back-up girlfriend she just glared at me and started throwing things at me.." Renee Costa
Well Lelouch, like the vast majority of people when discussing political leaders, would likely say the Emperor’s name, not just “the Emperor”.
This is the guy who spent a lot of time testing the Geass on various students to determine what it’s capable of. He pays attention to details like that.
