Also the fall semester is coming up, and I need to get ready to go back to work for that.
On the bright side, the Doctor Who club is going to meet to watch Deep Breath.
They're checking to see if they can get a nearby cinema and a school van.
I'm fine with the idea that even with two thousand years worth of life the Doctor cannot possibly have time to show up and fix every single problem in all of time and space. That's intrinsic to the premise: the universe is too big to have seen all of, even with two thousand years to see it in. The Doctor doesn't always arrive when you need him.
What I can't abide is the Doctor showing up and ignoring problems.
Y'know, I was about to post something to the effect of 'I see where he was coming from on that article, but it's kind of faulting the episode for something that isn't actually related to this episode', but then you made the quoted post, and, well, yeah, that's a damned good point. The episode totally does act as if the families problems are solved despite them still having to deal with poverty, and although the Doctor can't reasonably stop poverty from being a thing, he could at least acknowledge that there's still a problem there.

"Canada Day is over, and now begins the endless dark of the Canada Night."This is the first I ever heard there was a planned comics line for FP. What exactly happened to it?
Fresh-eyed movie blog...I think I've mentioned it before.
There were only two issues.
I'm given to understand it wasn't actually very good.
And regardless of quality, it didn't sell very well either.
Hence only lasting two goddamned issues.
I would have expected for you to have read it. Huh.
Forever liveblogging the AvengersThey're really fucking hard to find.
And I have too much estrogen to be treated with respect in most comic shops.
You can order them off of amazon, it seems.
No need to ever socially interact. Especially with comic shops.
Forever liveblogging the AvengersHm. Might want to double check before ordering.
I only found issue 1 on amazon. For twenty bucks, eesh.
Forever liveblogging the AvengersI remember looking for the comics and seeing them available for ~$100.
$20 is still too fucking much though.
It seems the only solution is to invent time travel, go back to when it was first released, get some copies while it was new and then go back to the future.
Or illegal piracy.
Or haunted hunting through longboxes.
But trying to get a reasonably priced obscure out of print thing, I know that feel.

Forever liveblogging the AvengersIts basically a more professionally dressed version of that tumblr post. You know the one.
Forever liveblogging the Avengers"Ste-mo" is almost as good as "the Grand Moff."
"We're home, Chewie."yes that one
Forever liveblogging the AvengersIn other news, I've finished some more Faction Paradox books.
The Brakespeare Voyage
Or:
The Fourth Wave Boys' Book Of Whaling For Universes.
I think I like the alternate title/subtitle better.
I'll get More Tales From The City when I have another paycheck.
The Book Of the War unused material.
The Faction Paradox school song.
Tales Of The Great Detectives has a neat cover.

I could easily see Peter Capaldi being the tom Baker of Nu Who.
On the one hand having some creative control as a star means that as an actor you're more inclined to be around for a much longer time, but it causes tensions between various levels of production.
Also, I was totally looking forward to shipping 12 and Clara.
Taking a shot!
Forever liveblogging the AvengersThose Capaldi tumblr posts were hilarious.
Capaldi sits inside your head
Capaldi lives among the dead
Capaldi sees you in your bed
And eats you while you're sleeping
Well the similarity was striking.

"Nullius addictus iurare in verba magistri, quo me cumque rapit tempestas, deferor hospes."
Well that sounds like a crappy couple of days.
