River! Grace! I knew I'd miss someone obvious.

I could have swore it was mentioned that Rory became a doctor at some point.

Happy New Year!
Yeah as cool as it would be I don't think Jenna-Louise Coleman's will be the filling the role of Oswin again. Apart from being a dalek and dead by the end of asylum she is already from the future. New Who Companions to date have all been from the present era.

Judging by the Christmas next time trailer, she's either a Victorian or a time traveler. I'm hoping she's the former.

War ALWAYS changes. Man does not.
Victorian? Hmm. We already have the Silurian serial killer killer and her maid.

Oh, hey, cross promotion time!

The Doctor Who rewatch is starting again this week, over in the other thread. We'll be watching Utopia!

Hope to see you all there.

Seriously if Nine does come back for the 50th anniversary, the best part will be seeing him interact with Ten and Eleven.

Her with the hat
I'll laugh if new!JLC companion does turn out to be Oswin again, because then we'd basically have a Dalek companion. Or as close as practical, anyway.

I went to a renaissance fair today. I don't have any period dress, but I decided to put on a nice sweater, sport jacket, and hat (and decided at the last minute against the collared shirt and bow tie).

I almost put my toy sonic screwdriver in my pocket, but I forgot to pick it up.

Well I think the Doctor's outfits would be perfectly in place at something like that. In some cases that's because they don't belong in any time period.

I think there should always be a Doctor who fan there to offer jelly babies. Of course if there are two they should make a hasty retreat to their TARDI Ses be sure to avoid each other.

Scum
Or they should at least ensure they dress as different Doctors.

Now I want to see two Doctor cosplayers run into each other, blink, and then dash off to the porta-potties on opposite ends of the field.
Long Live the King
Wouldn't it be more in-character for one Doctor to not recognize the other, while the other Doctor pretends to not recognize the first?

I guess so, if they were different Doctors.

[up][up][up] And then at least one of them disappears with a wheezing groaning noise.

[up][up][up]Not really. "The Next Doctor" was the first time the Doctor ever kept himself a secret. The old folks were usually pretty up-front about being themselves from the future.

They were usually in a setup where they'd been told ahead of time they were being sent to meet themselves. In The Two Doctors, Two never knows the guy in the silly coat is his future self.

Finally caught up on this thread. I actually missed A Town Called Mercy and most of The Power of Three (Mercy because my dad had bought tickets for a show which we had to be at at 7.30 pm and ^3 because my mum had taken me shopping and we got home at 8 pm. I almost missed Angels take Manhattan too, but luckily my dad had bought pizza and I realised that it should be on when I looked at the clock and saw it was 7.30 pm.)

I actually didn't realise I'd missed Mercy at the time, too. A couple days later I had a dream that had Amy and Rory in it and almost my first thought upon waking up was something like "dangit I missed Doctor Who!"

I wish I could remember what that dream was. All I can really remember is that it had Rory in it. Should've written it down so I didn't forget.

EDIT: Since I started reading the posts I had to catch up on the last page on the thread (this one) has been 1103. That's the age the Doctor was in one of the episodes, right? At the beginning/end of series 6? Am I thinking of the right one?

Also now there's no new episode til Christmas, I can look at fanfic without fear of spoilers! Yay.

Everybody's Aunt
[up][up] Oh come on, now you're being arbitrary about what is and isn't in continuity.

Nevermind the fact that some people liked the Hitchhiker's movie, now you are dissing The Two Doctors!

Why?
[up] The funny thing is that none of the various versions of The Hitchhikers Guide To Galaxy are alike, by being different from any of them in various ways is totally in keeping with he spirit of this. Which isn't to say say the movie was good or not, just that not slavishly following the books is no sin in this case.
Everybody's Aunt
[up] I mean, the Hitchhiker's movie had problems, but there were plenty of good bits too.

Like the Dolphin song scene. And the bits with Humma Kavula. I loved Alan Rickman as Marvin, and the Vogsphere section, and the mice.

The only real problem was the romance, and even that wasn't so bad. The romance didn't clutter up the whole movie at least. There have been worse romances, especially in adaptations.

Happy New Year!
Yeah you shouldn't just pretend the episode you don't like never happen. you have got to hold onto them, keep them close to your heart and talk about them as much as possible so that their evil is never repeated again

Never Forget.
