Um, Agatha? Is it really a good idea to stand on the wet roof and shoot it with lightning? Could be a hair-raising experience.

Who Am I?
I believe I actually raised the possibility that Agatha might have to run for it to save everyone else...

Or given some possibility with the zapping stick and statics I could foresee some Agatha's back in a near future.
I am not buying into the notion that Agatha has any intention whatever of leaving Mechanicsburg to Klaus's tender mercies.

Nor can I think of a single intelligible reason why Paris should take the risk of sheltering a runaway Heterodyne claimant who Klaus has denounced as The Other's Chief Revenant.

The build-up to the climatic battle for Mechanicsburg feels has taken a decade or so in the making.

Watching Agatha bond with her the city, its creatures and town folk, has been deeply satisfying to watch.

It's time to drive this part of her story to its conclusion.

Paris can wait.

It continues to be heartwarming how casually but strongly loyal the Heterodyne minions and constructs are, and it never seems to be out of something forcing them but just true devotion and kinship. It's like they're all one bit crazy family, and Agatha fits right in.

This in contrast to the total lack of loyalty present in Tarvek's line and the "loyalty because I have no choice" present in everyone associated with the Wulfenbachs makes this kind of closeness particularly interesting.

[up]Yup: the Heterodynes ooze Addams Family Values. *cough*

Seriously though: it is what they're like. Their morality might not be anybody else's cup of tea, but they stick to their own set through thick and thin. And, this goes for all of them, more or less, no matter how nuts they get. With an acceptable level of warm family argument thrown in, even between generations. evil grin

Well I was thinking on a stupid idea of the zappy stick bringing the fanservice via destroying some clothing while firing.

[up][up]That seems a perfectly reasonable idea for fanservice, not stupid at all. Too bad Tarvek or Van won't be in range. Sigh.

Well it may be on the logical extreme but given the Hofngard (not sure if properly typed) cloth eating ones we might have a zappy version of it and near the landing dock for Franz we find Tarvek... with a Camera.

So the question then is: did Zeetha teach Agatha the importance of wearing leather underwear?

Somehow, I think we still won't get DK being zapped tonight. Something has to happen with the landing on the roof scheme. Not sure what, those dang Foglios always come up with more imaginative scenarios than I can.

I will be slightly annoyed if we cut away to Gil at this point, unless it relates directly to this bit of action.

I think Gil will get his chance if Klaus's plans for Agatha and Mechanicsburg are derailed.

Klaus has a lot on his plate right now.

Failure in Mechanicsburg would strip the Empire of its defenses.

While Agatha has never lacked the raw power or finesse to take the fight to Castle Wulfenbach.

This is a girl who built a pocket-sized death ray in her sleep potent enough to cut a crescent shaped slice out of a neighboring mountain. Her little clanks proved a formidable gremlin army in the Battle Circus.

Klaus is up to something with Gil. I expect a crossing of double crosses and XanatosSpeedChess. We may not know who actually, finally wins for two or three volumes, or until long after the point is moot. It will be interesting to see how well Tarvek follows it all.

I suspect that this page was put in to shoo away the idea that she was going to run to Paris or anywhere else. Never give up! Never surrender!

[up]Now thanks for adding another movie to my stack. Which is growing but I'm too lazy at the moment to finish it.

Agatha won't run, not while her people are in danger, she was only stopped from going to Passholdt because it would have put the circus at risk, now there's no-one she loves to be put at more risk by her heroics, only people to be saved. This excuse of having nowhere to go is a thin disguise of practicality over her heroic instinct; can't have Othar thinking she's a hero after all, how embarrassing!

Now, I am starting to wonder if Franz will dragonnap her for her own good. Loyal, but not obedient.

Per Passholdt, it's possible she will have to be convinced. And like Frodo after Weathertop, she may do it to draw danger away—once the Kestle can provide adequate defense.

Meanwhile, Moxana is preparing a new game.

Oh I say!
It occurs to me that Franz is being Wrong Genre Savvy about his Heterodyne. The rant-and-run-to-rant-another-day thing is an excellent villain move, but as the defender of her family's home from overwhelming forces, Agatha is clearly in the hero's position. Heroes do not flee just because they're outmatched.
The above post is probably not entirely serious.

Yup. Agatha will do a Horatio at the Bridge before she'll run. I have no doubt that she is weighing the possibility of zapping DK and then taking a dive while he powers up if it gives the Empire something else to think about just long enough for the 'fully armed and operational' Kastle to rev up for one blinding display of destruction.

[up][up]It's a reasonable assumption though. After all, prior to Bill and Barry all the Heterodynes were villains, most of them of the Complete Monster variety.
