"Never let the truth get in the way of a good story."
I have to agree as well. Doc giving up his name way too quickly and easily was the start of my overall disappointment with The End so far. This 2nd part in particular has just felt rushed. It's been a great run with this comic and I admit I was probably going to be unsatisfied no matter what but I just expected more from this.
Breaking the Guardian Code
He gave up his name to defeat King Radical, what he's failed to accomplish for half the comic, and just after being defeated by Radical's supernatural ally, with the fate of the world at stake. I wouldn't say it was quickly and easy. If anything, the curse didn't seem to amount to much, unless Doc is so skilled and capable that he would have just curb-stomped his way through the entire gauntlet. I admit it does feel rushed after Radical's death. Dracula or Franz being instant killed wouldn't have been too bad, but both does feel underwhelming.

The Masked Commissar
I do love how Franz died. Dan deserved that, and nothing more glorious than having a ninja laugh at you while he casually snaps your neck.

Yeah, I've got no complaints with Franz' death. The rest of it is feeling rushed though.
Oh really when?
To me, it's felt rushed since Rad showed up, more or less abandoning the Boss Rush setup in favor of just getting to the final battle already. Franz and Dracula being anticlimactically killed off are just symptoms of that.

My theory is that the author has too many other projects to work on right now, so he's feeling pressured to wrap things up already. Maybe it'll feel less disjointed when I reread it in book form, but right now it feels like the story's had no time to breathe, and a lot of the panels have been extreme close-ups of the characters with few establishing shots and such. Just seems janky and awkward.

That's not unlikely. Hastings is writing actual comics now of the non-web variety. He's working for Marvel. He probably doesn't have a lot of time for pro-bono work like his webcomic anymore.
Ouch! The most brutal blow yet.
Hortense's art really has changed.
So that's what this does
Alternatively, Hortense has really let herself go since... you know.
Youch. Mitzi needs a doctor to bandage her up after that stabbing remark Hortense just made. ...But they don't have one because Dr. McNinja is dead.
If Doc is assumed dead (or not celebrating due to broken trust), 3 is still one less than it should be, if Hortense celebrates. Did something happen to Dan?
I have a message from another time...
Until further notice
I don't think Hortense celebrates it - she's not a McNinja anyway.
Not a substitute for a formal medical consultation.
Yeah, given her reaction I don't think so either.

I was surprised that Gordito wasn't counted among the people celebrating Katanakka, until I realized that he's never actually experienced it in comic (the story line where Gordito is introduced is the one after we see the McNinja's celebrate Katanakka). That suggests that the non-time traveling/flashback parts of the comic take place over a time period of roughly a year. Which is not impossible, but seems sort of quick.

So wait I just realized that the math doesn't quite add up. Shouldn't there have been five people celebrating Katanakka before the final showdown with Radical? Dan, Mitzi, Doc, DSP and Old? Or did Old stop caring about it when he became a farmer?
They didn't know about Old, and now he's dead.
WEATHERMAN IS BACK! Also, good for Judy.
This is a title.
Judy is as ineligible for VP as Rad and Franz were. She's not a U.S. native and probably isn't 35.
The madness is catching.
Love is Love is Love
For half a second I forgot Gordito's uncle existed and wondered why Dan unmasked.
I do hope we get to see Dr. McOrdinaryPerson's new medical practice before credits roll.
I really want to learn more about that Noodle Incident with an ax-wielding dog. Also, they don't even know what Patrick looks like. Makes sense when I think about it, but damn...

I'm calling it now, we're seeing Patrick's real face on the next page. Maybe even the next panel, with the rest of Dan's line being in a voiceover box.
