YMMV / Zettai Muteki Raijin-Oh

  • First Installment Wins: Between the fact that it has two appearances in the SRW series (Well, technically three) and a DVD release in the U.S. over the other Eldoran series, this seems to be the case for Raijin-Oh.
  • Germans Love David Hasselhoff: In Hong Kong.
  • Heartwarming Moments: Many, amongst them...
    • Weirdly, for the Superhero Jaku Beast to use its last moments to save some civilians before it dies. Yes, those were merely its programmed instincts, but still.
    • Jin's parents showing kindness to Taida.
    • Belzeb, exhibiting his Proud Warrior Race Guy trait, chose to exile Taida to Earth instead of forcing him to fight his new friends.
    • Jin, Asuka, and Kouji overcoming Belzeb's psychological attack on their friendship bond in the finale.
  • Ho Yay: Jin, Asuka, and Kouji in any combination. Actually lampshaded in an OVA when a monster makes Kouji fall in love with Jin, and Asuka fall in love with Kouji. It doesn't last very long.
    • Also Belzeb and Taida.
  • LGBT Fanbase: Asuka's got both fangirls and fanboys (who are otherwise straight) in the fandom.
  • Moment of Awesome: Quite a few, but especially the last 3 episodes. After a long series of repetitive and formulaic episodes, the last 3 episodes pulled an awesome Grand Finale.
    • Jin, Asuka, and Kouji narrowly defeating an immensely powerful upgraded Jaku Satan in their weaker individual robot components while nearly completely drained of energy.
    • Jaku Satan and God Raijin-oh teamed up to kill Warusar.
    • Jin, Asuka, and Kouji overcoming Belzeb's psychological attack on their friendship bond, upon which Belzeb admitted that he can never win and made his peace with them.
  • Superlative Dubbing: Many feel this way about the dub in spite of the fact that it didn't have very many professional voice-actors.
  • Toy Ship: Jin and Maria
  • Viewer Gender Confusion: Plenty of people have mistaken Asuka for a girl due to his effeminate appearance and teeny-tiny shorts. His name doesn't help, as it's the name of a female pilot in another, more well-known series...
    • It doesn't help that his voices in both Japanese and English are pretty androgynous.
